There is no minimum age limit for starting flying lessons in the US. You have to be 16 to get a Student pilot certificate to solo and 17 to get a private pilot certificate. Any person can fly an airplane with a certificated pilot at the other set of controls.
You must be 17 to apply for a recreational or sport pilot license.

There are different regulations in different countries, so you should state which country you intend to train in.

In the U.S. you can start private pilot training at any age, however, to make a solo flight, you must be at least 16 years of age and have a student pilot certificate acquired by passing an FAA medical exam, then your instructor will sign it when he or she thinks you're ready. To receive a Private Pilot Certificate, which allows you to carry passengers, you must be at least 17 years of age and pass an oral and practical test.

If you are quite a bit younger than 16 you could go up a few times with an instructor to get a look at what is involved with flying and look at the different parts of an airplane to see how it works. You can then more readily understand what you are reading when you study aerodynamics, powerplant operation, weather, navigation, communication etc..

You can start your training at any age although you cannot solo an aircraft until you are 16. Then you cannot get your pilots certificate (license) until you are 17. If you have other questions I would suggest going to www.faa.gov and you should be able to get most of your answers there.
On a side note I started flying when I was 13 and loved every minute of it!

There is no minimum age to enter pilot training. But there is an age requirement to be issued a license. Check the FARs.

I don't know the exact age, but young (under 10 yrs) children have started training. They can't obviously solo until they are older, but they can start training young. Hope this helps
