My first pick is " Dual Entertainment (and Media) " . Dual for duality, since I'm a Gemini and the company will tap into various aspects of the entertainment industry.I already know what the logo will be.So what do you think about the name? Any suggestion? I want something powerful, direct,in charge.Any Greek or Roman deity that represents duality would sound good, please help!

I'm planning on starting my own small business, selling beauty products online from home. Does anyone have any tips or advise on how to mail the products safely? What things do I need to consider when it comes to shipping charges? I don't want to over-charge my customers w/ shipping fees. Which one is more effective, charging S&H fee base on weight or subtotal amount?

I really want to start my own printing company. More like an advertising center. Where we cater services like printing tarpaulin, t-shirt, mugs, pen, card, and other give away items or souvenirs. And I also would like to include digital graphics and logo design. Can anyone help me or guide me on this? I don't even know where to start. :(

I'm a Realtor and my mother is looking to open a flower/gift shop - I have found her a great location for $900 including utilities. I live in a busy part of Los Angeles and there are few shops of this nature in my area - in fact whenever we have to buy gifts we have to travel about 15-20 minutes out of our way to do so. We have the money and I have calculated the cost of every gift (chocolates, balloons, and other gifts) but am having trouble estimating the cost and profit potential of the flowers themselves. Let's assume I'm in a busy area open 7 days a week and the demand for such a shop is somewhat in demand - how much am I looking to spend per month on flowers and what's the potential for income if I sell a wide variety of products such as small bouquets, large, specialty orders and things of that nature... Anyone own a shop like this that could offer me some figures? Thanks!

I was denied registration of a trademark because they said it would be confused with another trademark...?
I was attempting to register the name of my business here in the U.S. but had it denied because there is another company that already has their name registered that is similar to mine except for a word in the name however before I officially named my company, I did some research and saw there were two companies that had the same name except for one word but were both registered.

How can my mark be denied because it could be confused with another but then look up another name and find two marks that are in the same situation but still be registered?

Can I use this as an argument to appeal the refusal. "You registered them, how is my situation different" type of thing.

I'm changing computer systems & will be using QB for 2007. My questions is, I'm putting in the customers that have open invoices from 2006, is it better to enter the customers w/an opening balance or put the prior invoices in as their opening balance. If I put the invoices in w/parts that are inventoried, do I need to increase my inventory levels so these invoices can pull from it & not mess up my counts? Also, I have invoices for customers that are finance charge invoices, how would one go about putting this in QB so that the customers account is all current & up to date from their ending balance when I closed the 2006 year out in my old system?

Any other help hints, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much for your help & answer!!!

I opened a coffee shop about a month and a half ago. We invested like $50,000 in it, and it is going well, but not yet turning a profit (as expected a new business). However, we have no more capital to cover the loss of the business, and our personal income isn't enough to maintain us and cover the loss. We tried to secure a loan but we have bad credit and were turned down.

We are at a point where our only option is to lose it come month's end to the landlord, or to sell it. I'd like to do the latter since at least we can get something back. Also for a capitalized $42,000 business, how much can we expect to get. The business itself is solid and well set up - it is just young and we have no money to run it.

p.s. we considered bringing on a partner, but that would actually be harder than selling it, as we understand it.

So I am working on starting up a computer repair and upgrade company. It's part-time for me, but I do plan on hiring a tech full-time to do work in people's homes. How important is it for me to get some sort of insurance for him? For example if he accidentally trips and breaks something in the persons house...or something along those lines.

Does anyone have any experience with the Yellow Pages book in the UK?

I have been advertising with them for just under a year, and they take the monthly fee out of my bank by direct debit. My problem is, that its not cost effective, as the advert isn't bringing in any new customers.

How do I cancel it or does it run out after a year. I signed up for a year but if they work like a mobile contact does, they keep taking the money out after the year, or do Yellow Pages have to ask for your permission to print your advert in their book each year?

Any help would be great.

Hi

I'm looking for organic products intended for baby that I can turn into a business.
These include shampoos, soaps, organically grown cotton based clothing etc.
How would I find out where a manufacturer or wholesaler is who could supply me with these, UK or overseas?
Many thanks
