I heard if when making payments if you write -0 balance- in the memo of your check or money order and the company accepts and cashes it-- than they are agreeing to the 0 balance for the debt.. Is This True?

would it be better to apply the amount to a mortgage started may 1,1999 in the amount of 309,375 for 20 years@7.5%. Or a mortgage started in nov 2002 in the amount of 375k for 30 years @6.38%. Where do I save the most in interest paid. Also, should I consider the tax benefits of having the mortgages and putting the 150k in a C.D. @ 5.5%

This was a line in South Park but it's true! Sniff one some time in line at the bank ( you can confirm that they're poor when they get to the teller and withdraw like $7.82)

What should I do after work? Go to the gym, go to the groceries with mommy, watch a movie with a friend (if so, should we watch Lakehouse, or Nacho Libre?), or should I just stay home and play ps2 and sleep?

i just closed and transfered funds from an IRA account (that matured every three months) into my savings at my credit union.. the only reason i did this was because i opened another ROTH through fidelity.. and i wanted that to be my main IRA acct..

my question is what happens after i do this? i was told that the amount gets taxed as income at the end of the year..

WHICH AMOUNT ACTUALLY GETS TAXED? THE WHOLE THING? OR JUST THE DIVIDENDS?

I filled out an online application for an aspire credit card and they approved me and said that I would recieve it shortly. How long is shortly? A week? A few days? Its just been 3 days but I was just wondering. I am trying to build up my credit and I just bought a house and thats the only thing on my credit and this is the first credit card that I have been approved for and I am growing anxious.
