I am an American citizen and live as "resident of Mexico" for the last 8 years, I just sold my Mx.house and bought a smaller one. This year my accountant in NJ says even though I satisfied the Mx.tax law I have to pay US taxes on capital gains. This seems to be unfair, I moved to Mx. not just because I love it, the climate, the natural foods, the people, but because it is more affordable than living in say, -CA. I think my NJ accountant is very knowledgeable but is this correct, to pay in both countries. I feel I'm being punished.

ok, I have banked with several banks in my life but none have ever done what my current bank is doing. I recently had an overdraft and I know it was my fault but the bank starts chaging fees before my account is actually negitive. They say if my availiable balence goes negitive they charge fees. Let me show you what I mean with my current situation
A purchase of 30.01 brought my balence to 110.78
and then one for 60.00 took my accout, per thier statement, to 50.78 but they charged me a SERVICE CHARGE for 25.00 for that transaction which then took my balence to 25.78
Then I had a purchase for 50.00 that one finally took me negitive -24.22 but would not have if I had not been charged the fee so they charged another fee for that one of 25.00 then I was neg -50.22 I think it shoud have been positive .22
does this seem right to charge fees before you account is actually negitive just because the availiable balance is neg from things that are pending?

I saw this infomercial on TV the other day for a local Suzuki Dealership offering new cars (not just suzuki makes) for very low monthly prices and no down payment...

For example a 2007 Chevy Tahoe for $127 a month!!!

How is this done?

Do they finance for more than 72 yrs?
........new car loan programs I haven't heard of?

I know either way there screwing you for that low of a payment and especially the no down payment part, but $127 a month for a 07 Tahoe is pretty attractive...I'm just wondering if this is a low monthly payment for a couple months and than it jumps to what it should....which should be 7 to $800 a month.

Anyone have a good idea of how this thing works???

.......

I have received an email that has no advertising of any kind, telling me that I've won the UK national lottery to the sum of 2.7 million Great British Pounds. It has a serial # reference # name of accounts officer in a bank in scotland, which I called to see if it exisited and it did, complete with long-distance delays in conversation. I've asked them to send a specific email from a plain jane person and to quote my daughters name so I knew a person and not a machine sent it, and they did, even quoting the terms I used, and assuring me I need not worry. But the thing is for them to transfer the winnings from the uk to canada saftely, they need me to set up an account for a large sum transfer overseas, and that costs 500 pounds which works out to almost 1200 bucks canadian. It just so happens that it's tax time and i have the money but it's also the only time of year I SEE that much money. and damned if I'm going to be a sucker and lose it to a scam. I'm trying to find their line of BS

the author is Naomi Klein.

It has to do with the globalization of merchandise and how products are no longer held in as high regard as they once were because they did not keep up with the newest marketing techniques. It touches on how products can improve your life whatever their use.

If anyone has any other books or information on these types of books, videos, articles, etc. please give me any and all information.
