Can anyone tell me where it is from and how much it is worth equivalant to U.S. currency? Thank you.

It's either Soviet or Russian, depends on the date of issue. If it's pre-1992 then it's Soviet and worth about $0.20 to $0.50 collector's value in circulated condition. Else if it's a 50 kopeek(pronounce this way) dated from 1997 and golden in color, then it's from Russia(Commonwealth of Independent States) and worth the face value of 50 kopeek, which is about US$0.02 at the foreign exchange. 1 Russian Ruble has 100 kopeek.

It's from the former Soviet Union, and is worth less than one US dollar.
