I thought mutual funds were supposed to be safe. I wouldn't have invested if I knew this.

Ok here is a company I brought into to make money. But instead there CFO Watson is spending there money like water 5 vacations this year so far and the year in not over! Lawyer fees to fight the widow of the original owner , and developer of the Airtrax Co. When Pete Amico past away the broad hired this Watson guy to run the place but instead of concentrading on sales and the CSA he's only spending money like water. I myself as a stock holder feel feel that it's disgraceful. This Company has a great product of the future and to have someone like Watson running the business is foolish. Get someone in there that can make this Co. a star like Pete Amico wanted it to be. And leave his widow alone.

With the US and ALL foreign indices down and in the red why is the Madrid Stock Exchange the only market in the world in the green? They have been green since our downturn began.Maybe we should all invest there?

With every stock exchange in the world in the red would'nt it be better to explain this deep downturn on external forces as opposed to internal (US domestic stats)? I mean- there is not one foreign stock exchange that has not merged, or is about to merge, with larger exchanges. Example: NASDAQ/OMX, NYSE/EURONEXT and others. With US, Canada and Mexican markets so intertwined-how could you not expect their financial woprlds NOT TO EFFECT OUR HOLDINGS?

I am 27 years old and currently make $50-55k. I have a college degree, am in sales, and obviously expect to make quite a bit more money in the future than I do now. My wife contributes to a teacher pension fund, which is nice for her (and me too). My company has a Simple IRA (instead of 401k) that matches dollar for dollar up to 3% of my income. Right now I am only saving the 3% and need to improve that. I'd appreciate any expert advice from somebody who knows about investing. I always hear that the Roth IRA is the way to go because you have already paid the tax...but I feel I may net more money paying the tax as I withdraw in retirement. Thanks for any help!

I'm looking for the New York Stock Exchange ticker symbols for Gold (the one that will show the current value of about US$650.00 per oz), Silver, Platinum, and Oil (all three need the same requirement as Gold). I want to add their ticker symbols to MY YAHOO financial portfolio so I can easily track them. I'm not looking for stocks, futures, options, or the like. Just the straight info on these precious commodities, please. I searched Yahoo Finance, Wikipedia, and Google and couldn't find what I'm looking for at those sites. Please, no referrals or links - just the ticker symbols. Thanks in advance.

A couple of weeks ago, they said the market was doing really well for those of us who have 403B and 401K's, but now I hear things are going down hill and I have no clue what that means. The Lincoln Financial group is handling my 403B. Do they know what they are doing? I have about 20 yrs before I retire.

The finance company won't advise where you should invest & I feel I should be more aggresive if I have a horrid rate of return. but 5.o might be great for all I know!?!) (I'm 35 so I thought maybe being a little more aggresive would be okay.

If anyone can make sense of what I said please help!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am new to investing and have been advised that the Mutual Discovery Fund, Templeton Growth, Mutual Shares, and Income funds are best for me. Besides them, what else would be better to invest in with less fees and better returns with less or reasonable risk?
What else if I desire no stock market investing?

A handful of them have lost billions and billions of dollars over the past few weeks.

When they lose money, they don't compensate anyone. But, if they make money, they keep 20% of the gains.

Hedge funds seem like the perfect way for the investment manger to just make some huge crazy bets. If the bets pay off, he gets to keep 20%. If the bets fail, he just throws up his arms and says "shucks" while investors are left holding the bag.
