I have a quant background in hedging, so I'm not asking for guidance on how to learn modeling or developing strategies for trading options. I have work experience doing option valuation and developing dynamic replication strategies, but I have never done the trading.

I want to start relatively small - I'm comfortable putting about $20K at risk. I would be looking to hedge options against options while trying to limit the amount of dynamic hedging. I expect that I'll need set up some margin in addition to any net option premium. Is $20K reasonable?

Are there brokers specializing in options? Does anyone recommend CME, CBOE or other tools? (I know that some exchanges offer tools for subscription.)

Thanks!

Im interested in daytrading, i have been playing the real market with fake money through facebook and have been doing well. But ive been making alot of trades. I dont have that much money to invest so spending $10 on each trade when i may make 10 trades each day can really add up. Are there any trading companies that offer unlimited trades for a certain fee? im think of starting with $5,000. do you think that is sifficiant? im not looking for huge gains, and a profit of even $50 on a trade is fine with me. i would just like to start playing the market and learn.

Hi,
My brokers reject me everytime i apply for margin account. I don't know if it's because i'm a student or not. Is there a minimum annual income or net worth to get margin account? What should I do?

If the us dollar continues to become weaker what can we buy which retains value? Gold? I want to live in foreign country in the future however at present the dollar can buy many things in brazil and thailand etc. However this may not be the case for long. What is a good investment to keep my US money from depreciating?

With investers getting tired of chasing losses, do you believe they will flock to a true investment in gold and silver so they can start experiencing gains rather than losses?

Like if you buy an share of an company for X amount of money (the average) how do you actually get money from the investment? When you sell it? But if you sell it and the current stock is only going for X money per share around what you paid for it how do you make more than say the say $10 the stock went up?

I am a married mother and have a mortgage ready to go. I have not gone ahead yet as I really think the market is due for a slump next year, maybe as a follow on from Americas recent dip. But then, one more years rent is nearly ten grand so should I wait or not? Thanks xxx
