I am good at picking stocks. Someone wants to hire me to take control of their online stock account and choose stocks and buy them online for them. Am I allowed to do this now or do I have to get a business license and financial planning certifications?

When the stock market crashed in 1997, China wasn't affected. Is China then insulated from the stock market in other parts of the world? Most experts are positive about the market. Even housewives are beginning to queue up and buy stocks. These are only some of the signals for a crash. Given the nature of the market in China though (GDP target to rise more than 9% this year), would you consider the market the same as the rest of the world?

Meaning when does a dividend happen. If I were to purchase a stock today and tomarrow is there earnings call, will I be eligable for the dividend?

On another note, how soon after an earnings call are dividends distributed?

As you can see I am clueless about the stock market.

OK, so im 21 and I've been saving every dime ive made since i was 16. ive recently made some large purchases, but have a lot of money left over to invest. Im tired of it just sitting in my savings account, not making anything. I dont want to loose money, so i know stocks are probably not the best idea for me, but i also want to make more than what a CD would make me. I would only invest about 4,000$ and i would make it so by next june i would be able to have axess to it, or if i dont need it to, leave it in and not touch it. what should i do? who is the best to invest with...all that stuff

Where can I go to find a list of those "big ole' BLUE CHIP" stocks? Safer, value-oriented stocks. Is there a website somewhere? I've tried my luck with the micro/small cap stocks...and it HURTS my wallet...Baaaad! I'm ready to grow up.

Any suggestions?

It seems to me that if I buy options 2-3 days before expiration that are only 50 cents out of the money, all the stock itself needs to do is add $1.00 in 2 days for me to have a sweet payday. Today MSFT is $29.55, Feb $30 calls are 8 cents each. I can buy 400 for $32.00! Seems to me like the stock doesn't need to move much in a couple days. What am I missing?

I normally look at morning star, the street, msn money, etc. before the market opens, but I am looking to find out what companies will be releasing the reports a couple of days before they are actually released. I trade options and do fairly well as it is, but would like the additional information.
