I am going to TD Ameritrade tomorrow. I set up an account online, and have the signature of the custodian (although I am now of legal age in my state)

I would think no more than a week from the sale date for you to actually receive the cheque, if you asked the brokerage to mail you the proceeds on completion of the sale.
Normally the funds would just be credited to your account.
