There are actually two condos I might buy - one has an abatement (no taxes for first 10 years, phased in for the next 5 years, then full taxes after that). The other condo is cheaper but has no abatement. I have everything set up to do an NPV analysis, but I'm not sure what discount rate to use. I think it's the the 30-year T-bill rate, and I think that's somewhere in the mid 4s right now. Is that correct?

Walk me through a reasonable decision process to place a call ....and or a put......on a stock price of Company A. Then follow through with cashing that out, using proper terminology to describe the transactions. Include details of how to use my trading platform to access the option section. I use presently Scottrade. Thanks

I know absolutely nothing about investing. However, I will soon be getting a chunk of money, that I really don't want to squander away. I really need to become more responsible about my financial future....and my income is going to be very limited, as I am a single, disabled mother of an 8 year old.

Any answers greatly appreciated!

Hey all. I'm 22, and just getting started with my job's 401(k). There is a fair amount of variety....mostly blend funds though. How would you recommend I distribute my contributions between large-cap, small and mid-cap, foreign funds, bonds, etc.?

I'm thinking of maxing out my new 401K (company is matching at 25%) but my spouse (who has a 401k from previous employment but does not put anymore money in it) thinks that it is not a good idea to put any money in my 401K, and would prefer that I save this money for a down payment (1st time buyers). I am 30 yrs old and I don't have any money saved for retirement yet. Any advice?
