What values of P/E and EPS are acceptable? Are these values compared industry or sector by sector? Where would I go to check EPS values overall? Would you buy a stock with a low EPS? If so, why?

i noticed from a GEindex site that they are involved in high yield bonds. GEindex pays rates of 2% pre day to investors. If they can pay such high premium I just wonder how much they make by dealing in high yield bonds?

i want to invest in aggressive stock-based investment funds.
i checked Polish funds and they bring around 50%-60% yearly (30% for 6 months, 15% for 3 months). these funds are managed by well known institutions like Fortis and Commerical Union. And they are sold as umbrella funds so if the stock market goes down i can easily switch to bond-based funds.

now, as 50-60% they generate is the same or even higher then Asian and Latin American funds, plus the fact that European countries are much more stable (NATO, EU members), why would anyone want to invest in Chinese, Indian or Latin American funds at all ?

What is a Mutual Fund?

The idea behind a mutual fund is simple: Many people pool their money in a fund, which invests in various securities. Each investor shares proportionately in the fund's investment returns -- the income (dividends or interest) paid on the securities and any capital gains or losses caused by sales of securities the fund holds.

Every mutual fund has a manager, also called an investment adviser, who directs the fund's investments according to the fund's objective, such as long-term growth, high current income, or stability of principal. Depending on its objective, a fund may invest in stocks, bonds, cash investments, or a combination of these financial assets.
Please answer.

I know most people tell you to manage your own money but I wouldn't know where to start. I'm looking for trustworthy sites that would allow me to start with a mini managed account, under 10k. I tried to find out the past return for some of these companies and I couldn't find nothing from no one. Shady?

Would you use an environmentally friendly, packaging free supermarket?
i.e. one where you brought in your old coffee jars, detergent bottles, egg boxes, washing powder boxes etc etc and had them filled up. It wouldn't sell everything, but most of what you need. If you had no container, it would be supplied in a paper bag, or in a container you could re-use next time. Products would be the same trusted brand names that are sold everywhere else, not cheaper, inferior versions.
Concerns about food in tamper-free containers would be addressed.
Please answer honestly as I'm opening this shop next year, and this is my paper-free, environmentally friendly market research! (Well, it's relatively green compared with mailshots, paper surveys etc..)

I want to view the FTSE 100 index live on my laptop, I want to be able to see it moving up and down in real-time. Is this possible and if it is can it be done without signing up with any of the online trading companies like Barclays Stockbrokers or IG Investments. I have looked into the London Stock Exchange website but I don't think it is possible to view live. Apologies if this is a boring issue but I really would be delighted if someone out there could assist - Many thanks!
