Where can I find FTSE100 & FTSE250 closing levels on 31 December from 1993 to 2006?

Tried all sorts of searches without success. Quite a few subscription sites seem to have this info. but I don't want to pay for the info. Any clues?

Write to the Editor of Financial Times (you can pick up the detail from Search Engine). Tell them you are doing Business Studies and wonder if they could help you in extracting this info. Maybe they would prefer your Email address.
On their website they may even have a "contact us" bit on their site.
