I have been looking for some small investors to grow my 26 year old business reformed as an LLC about a year ago.

Each time I locate someone, they explain that their advisor recommends against investing in small businesses, even one as established as mine. Others contend that the $100K I seek is way too small to deal with.

Seems to me that being able to look an owner in the eye and having some influence is much better than owning 0.00001% of a giant conglomorate and having no control at all.

So, you advisors out there... why do you dislike small local business so much?

I was in idiot in 2000 (I was also only 19) and bought Cisco when it was at its highest ($133/share). I bought 11 shares, and it split. I now have 22 shares with about a $900 loss thus far. Should I just call it quits and cash out?

I'm new to investing. One of the the stats I've been told to look for when looking at a company is their annual earnings growth rate. Which finance sites show that figure? For Instance, when I dig into a stock's info on Yahoo, there's a category called "Key Statistics." Is it one of those figures--none of them say "annual earnings growth rate."

I understand that publically-traded companies are required to post their earnings quarterly. Is there a website that lists the dates that major companies are expected to post these earnings report?
Thanks.

Hi all!

I was wondering: so many smart people trade the stock market using certain methods and mathematical indexes. This causes the market to act in a certain way.
What will happen if I turn the logic arond any try to trade by doing exactly the oppisite of what all the indexes and well-known trading methods tell me to do?

Shouldn't I get rich in no time??

Thenks!

Hi all,

I was wondering: do different weekdays have an influence over the way stocks are traded?
What I mean is: is there a kind of pattern in trading concerning different days of the week? An example would be that not much change takes place on Fridays or that Mondays are very 'stormy' days concerning stock trading.

I thenk you for any idea!
