As Muncie said, it's difficult to go back to the beginning of time. But I'm going to presume you only need 10 or so years.
And for that, it's simple!
Go to Yahoo finance (http://finance.yahoo.com)
Type in your symbol of the stock you’re looking for
Then on the left, click on historical quotes.
Now, you can then type in the date range you want and choose daily/weekly/etc and download the data to excel or wherever.
Or if you prefer, you can go to this link instead. Just replace GOOG with the stock symbol that you’re looking for.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=goog
The adjusted price is the stock price adjusted for splits. So if a stock was at 100, and split 2 for 1 to 50, the adjusted price would show you the price as if the stock had always been at 50 so you can determine the real change in value of that stock over time. I believe this is the part you're looking for.
Have fun!

Unfortunately, there is no site that I know of that maintains a complete history of stock splits and stock dividends. Yahoo provides that information going back to about 1985. To find it go the the stock your are interested in and click on historical prices. Then select dividends only, and hit enter. A dividend schedule and stock split history will be displayed back to about 1985.
For instance it shows that BLL had three stock splits 2:1 Aug 24, 04; 2:1 Feb 25, 02; and 2:1 Oct 2, 85. But that is as far back in time as the data goes even though I know that BLL has been a publicly traded company since about 1970.

Yahoo's Historical Quotes can give you that information. For example, to check for splits on stock ticker "IBM", you'd use this URL:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=IBM&g=v
It gives you a list of splits AND dividends. You'll also find a hyperlink near the bottom that allows you to export the data to EXCEL. You could easily filter the data to find only the splits.

All stock splits have to have a filing with the SEC. You can search the fillings of the SEC for a specific company on their EDGAR Database at:
