Investing - September 2006

The panel is comprised of my entire QA department as well as Managers and Directors of our telephone customer service department. We monitor their representatives for quality assurance. Our goal is to have a frank but fun discussion about QA, our relationship together, best practices and any challenges we face. I already have quite a few questions but could use some suggestions. can someone please interpret this for me? "Oneida's common and preferred stockholders will not receive any distributions under the plan and their equity was cancelled as of the plan's effective date." I hope that doesnt mean my shares are worthless now, because it currently says the price is .003 For more info...(ONEI.PK) on yahoo finance, its the most recent news. Thank you so much.

A man wants to buy 100 cars, which have a list price of £15,000. He is offered them at a discount of 40% of the list price of the car. Which means that the cost per car is £9000. In the Fixed Assets of the Balance Sheet, is £9000 x 100 cars listed, or £15000 x 100 cars listed, and why?

My husband and I are coming into around 100 thou dollars in a few months. Right now we have quite a bit of debt including almost 30 thou in credit card debt at between 20 and 25% interest as well as owing our respective parents around 25 thou total AND a 30 thou 2nd on our home. I think we should pay off our Credit Cards, set up 20 in some sort of education investment for our 2 children and invest the rest of the 50 thou and make payments to the 2nd and our parents. My husband thinks we should just invest it all and not pay off any of the debt. Please give some advice.

My employer makes bi-weekly deductions from my pay check based on the amount I specify. He then holds that money (and presumably my other coworkers' contributions) for several months before sending it to be deposited into my 401K account. This sounds illegal to me. What if the stock market surged and all my money wasn't in my account to take advantage of it?

On CNBC , the 2 streaming ticker tapes at the bottom of the screen. Is there a pattern in what is listed on the ticker tape? Why does the top move faster than the bottom?

ANy one knwos this company? I attended their intro seminar some time ago. They charge 2000 dollars for the 2 day course.
