The hospital informed me that I will have to pay out-of-pocket even if I did have insurance and then I will have to wait and see if they will send me a check in the mail for the cost. My insurance has covered everything since I found out I was pregnant...it's just weird to me how I had to come out of pocket for it instead of the hospital billing my insurance company!!!!

I know 2 people who have filled claims with insurance companies. One was over a year ago where he broke his bak and he got 80k and is back to work without any problems. The other one got his foot partially amputated and hasnt been able to walk since and his claim got denied because it was amputated enough. One cant walk gets denied and the other is fine but gets 80k. Does anybody else see anything wrong with that?

Here in Ma, insurance companies run credit checks on people before they give you insurance. I have horrible credit so I get screwed and have to pay about $1000 more for insurance than I usuall would. It shouldn't matter about my credit because the insurance is part of the escrow so the nortgage company pays it. In fact I had paid for a year up front last year. The insurance company cashed my check it cleared then they ran their credit check and said they wouldnt insure me. I am just getting tired of getting screwed by the MAN. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I really want too get some contacts, but neither my family nor I have insurance. What are some places that have cheaper offers? I already went to Walmart, and though they had specials on contacts, the eye exam was over $100.

I have read some of the previous answers and understand that to make it in the insurance business, you have to work hard and put in hours. I have a friend who sells health insurance and know that it can be lucrative. However, I am interested in knowing how you chose which line of insurance sales you wanted to get in to. I have been exposed to health insurance when I worked for Medicare so there would be some familiarity there for me but somehow selling property/casualty seems more interesting.

Are different personalities better suited to one or the other?

Is it more a personal preference?

I would like to hear from both sides especially if any of you have done both.

What are some reasons why an insurance co. settles a lawsuit(premises liability). Could one reason be that the plaintiff and lawyer have a solid case? And they see client was wrong?

Last week I had to go to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. I'm 19, uninsured, and my husband and I are self employed.

When I contacted the billing department, she told me the least I could pay is $1000 a month for 36 months until I have the bill paid off. There is no way that we can pay that!

The hospital fees are ridiculous-- for example, I had a CT scan (which ended up being inconclusive) that cost $7,237!

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can negotiate my bills down?

I'm so depressed about this medical bill, I don't know what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The insurance issomething called Coxhealth...individual ppo somethin rather idk. I'm a bit confused on how to get her off medicaid and onto this other health insurance. Any suggestions?

No one told me the doctor was not on my plan, now I', being charged w/his hugh bill. What recorse do I have? It seems they accepted the $ already sent from my Insurance Co. but they are looking for more. I never go out of net work. I can't afford this bill nor do I believe the doctor should receive any further payment. I would have chosen an in net-work participan.

Were rear-ended in our car past April (almost totaled the car).
Daughter (16 @ time) and I had whip-lash plus I had a compressed nerve (tingling both hands).
Started chiropractor & massage therapy after healing from seat belt bruising.
Other insurance has paid for all medical bills and car repair.
Released from care and time to settle-- insurance co. is offering us both around $2250. Seem fair? (prefer no lawers involved).

If my husband provides insurance through his work to his daughter and is also paying child support on her is he going to be responsible for the co-pay everytime she goes to the doctor? His daughter also has a secondary insurance through the state that her mom collects we were just wondering if the secondary insurance would pay or who would be responsible.
The mother or him???

Hi, I was in a car crash in which my friend was driving and, I was a passenger. I had to go to the ER and get x-rays, and med's. My question is that will I get a check for my pain and suffering? I know her insurance is paying my ER bills and x-ray, but I was just wondering that because I was just a passenger, and it wasn't my fault. Thanks
