The check has my name and the contractors name on it.I would like to pick out my own appliances and lighting although I would need to cash the check first to do that. Would there be any legal reason why the contractor would not sign the check before the work is done?

I currently have family coverage health insurance through my employer that takes care of me, my spouse, and my infant son. It is about $160/month and has excellent benefits. Now my husband is eligible to buy health insurance through his employer. He could either get single coverage for $25/week for a plan with a $250 deductible, or $21/week for a plan with a $750 deductible. Or he could get family coverage at either $61/week for the lower deductible or $50/week for the higher deductible. The office visit copay is slightly higher with the higher deductible plan. Or he can decline coverage altogether. There is NO WAY I will be canceling our family coverage through my employer. So, is it worth for my spouse to buy dual coverage through his employer? If so, what considerations should we make when deciding to purchase either single or family, and deciding whether to do the lower or higher deductible?

My siblings are trying to figure out a way to cover funeral cost for people in our family who don't have financial means but we don't know who to talk to. Seems like an insurance company or a funeral services would have a plan for this. We have had to take up donations at the funerals to help with this expense. We would like to avoid that in the future. We will pay for it but something that we could be on a 'payment plan' before anything happens - like insurance. Something that would include cover service, plot, etc for multiple family members.

Is there anything like this available or can something be set up. I don't understand why no one has come up with this. It would be a money making proposition (I'd like to know negatives of an 'offering' like this - something that would truely be helpfu to consumers) -

We would pay as a family but it's hard when money issues intrude on an already hard time for a family. So why not pay for it over time.

I have full Horoizon HMO insurance (which I pay 400 a month for). I went to the ER and was admitted for major stomach pain in which the checked my appendix but I was OK. They released me, and that was that.

I got the statement from the insurance co today saying not covered is 16k of the 19k bill. Now my PCP sent me to the hospital and approved to have me admitted. They took all my insurance info. Is this just some BS or would I have to pay a 16k bill when im supposed to be 100% insured?

Does anyone know who can provide this? Most home insurance offers free legal expenses cover, but non of them include family law expenses. I would be interested to buy this insurance if I could find out who offers it! Searches on the internet only relate to the bog standard cover. Please help!

I hit a basketball hoop in a back street with my commercial truck. The owner contacted me and says its worth $450. Should I go give him $450 or contact my insurance. I am an LLC if I pay him, he could still say I didn't compensate him enough. What should I do?

A year and a half ago, my date hit me in the face with a bottle of champagne. Thus resulting in an implant in my front tooth. Total damages over $8,000.

I missed tons of school and work, and had to drive an hour to the dentist each time.

Insc. only offered me 1500 for my settlement. Am i getting screwd?

I have never dealt with health insurance before, sorry if my question is silly.

My health insurance ( NJ Horizon Blue Cross) covers prenatal care, including ultrasounds and blood work.

My doctor's office keeps on billing me for an ultrasound that supposed to be covered.

I've got the same bill about 4 times. When I call my insurance agency, they say that my ultrasound is completely covered, but doctor's office should use another code to fill in the claim.

I asked the office to change the code many times, but I still do not get coverage.

Is there anything I can do? I feel like I am going in circles. Who can really resolve this problem, doctor's office or insurance agency?

I'm specifically concerned with my wife's candle making craft.
She plans on selling a few candles to family and friends. Very small operation.
If one of these people burn their house down and decides to sue us because of a "faulty candle" (ugh .. the things you have to worry about these days!)
Would our umbrella policy cover it?
