I'm asking this because I get upwards of 150 emails every day and there aren't enough hours in the day to read them, let alone respond. It seems to me that although it used to help increase business efficiency it often now just clogs up people's days.

Or, alternatively, is this just a symptom of employees being expected to work ever longer and harder these days?

the company is not yet public, nor have they made any sales/profit. it is still in product development phase. they have 6 millions in funding. they are near completion of their product development. i think there are 4 employees, a ceo, and some investors. that's what they have told me so far.

I just don't see it working. So we don't fill up for one day, the sales shift to the day before or the day after, how will this "send a message" to the oil company? Your thoughts....

Recently, Human Rights Watch came out against Wal-Mart claiming that the retailer "abuses" it's employees.
Now, I understand that some people don't like Wal-Mart for various reasons...but with the horrible atrocities going on in Darfur, Nigeria, North Korea and elsewhere, doesn't Human Rights Watch have more important things to worry about than Wal-Mart?
Just a few facts about Wal-Mart:
>Most Wal-Mart stores that open up get anywhere from 5000-20,000 job applications to fill an average of 400 jobs.
>Wal-Mart annually gives millions of dollars to various charity and community development groups
>Wal-Mart doesn't provide about 45% of it's employees with health insurance...but the vast majority of those are part-time employees who only work 15-20 hours per week

I don't want to beat the drum too loudly for Wal-Mart, so tell me what you think about this issue.
Is Human Rights Watch justified in their criticizm of Wal-Mart or are they just buying into the "Wal-Mart hater" hype?

I have an hour to talk and an additional 30 minutes available for additional questions and book signing.

Two minutes per slide seems adequate. I have 40 slides so far with open-ended content.

Why is it in CA insurance companies are forced by the state to cut rates when their profits are to high, but oil companies are ok?

Why doesn't ExxonMobil take some of that money and build a new refinery? Every other industry in this country, when demand rises, they increase production! These guys aren't! They know if they do prices will drop. Don't give me that crap about the enviromentalists blocking it, for 39 billion you could buy half of Arizona and do what ever you want. Or buy a lot of politicians. Which ever - republican or democrap, politician pledges to fix this in 2008 will get my vote.

Enough is enough. High gas prices hurt the average American as hard as a tax increase, yet no politician is willing to fight to lower gas prices! As long as Americans want gas we should be doing everything to ensure a cheap and plentiful supply. You can do that AND come up with alternatives at the same time.

The separate lot is as far from the building as possible. The company claims that this is to prevent passers-by from seeing non GM vehicles in the GM lot, however the lot is right by the road that runs in front of the plant! GM vehicles assembled in foreign countries do not have to park in the separate lot. American made cars made by UAW members at Ford and Chrysler must park in the separate lot.
This plant does their mowing with a Ford tractor, and hauls their products to and from the plant in Volvo semis.
