This position would require me to relocate, so I confirmed that I would be taking the position, and they've confirmed the salary, relocation, sign-on bonus over the phone. I followed up earlier in the week and their HR advised that he had just received the final signature and the offer letter/package was being overnighted to me. That was Monday, today is Saturday. We had confirmed my start date and I have already given my two weeks in my current position. I plan to call and follow up again on Monday, but I am worried that this is taking so long!

I thought it would be easy to have my assistant take care of it. But she has just given me a list of things that the company must consider.
1. No peanuts or nut products. (possible alergic reaction)
2. No shell fish or shrimp. (same as above)
3. No meat. (possible outrage by the vegan employees)
4.No milk or milk products. (lactose intolerable employees would feel left out)
5. No beer, wine, or spirits. (4 employees are members of AA)
6. No dancing. ( several fundementalist employees can not join in and the handicapped ones would feel left out)
7. No smoking within 90 feet. (state law)
8. No fraternization (possible law suits)
9. No mention of Christmas.( insulting to people of other relgious faiths)

Doesn't sound like much of a party to me. Maybe I should just hand out some bottled water the day before and forget about the party.

I got an e-mail from Avon saying not to believe any rumors or e-mail you happen to hear. They stated that we (reps) should not forward or repeat any information without first verifying it with our managers. I'm dying to know - what are they talking about? Anyone know?

We have several signs that say NO CUSTOMERS BEYOND THIS POINT. We had one. That wasn't enough, so we added one. Then we went to four.. THen we painted it on the floor. Then we put a small chain across the door. People just keep ignoring these things. (a certain type of people). When you tell them they can't be in that area, they get defensive, several have even gotten OFFENSIVE. I knew one day it would happen and sure enough it did, one of my employees got hurt. I don't know what else to do to prevent these 'certain people' from entering the building where they are not supposed to. The employee wants the customers info so he can sue him, what do I do?

Lets say you go in the Military, you don't need any College experience or training to get in right? But the Military trains you to work for them, to function for them and to become an expert at what you do. Why don't all businesses work the same way? Lets say I'm interested in software, programming etc. Why must I have "prior experience" to work for companies which deal in expertise positions? Why not, instead, hire me into a company "boot camp" and give me the dedicated training I require to be an efficient, top quality employee in the field I request? I've not had the luck or opportunities to get experience in anything, never had parental guidance, never had much of anything. I think if companies had a "boot camp" for new recruits there would be less poverty in the world and more filled job positions. What do you think?

I received an email from a friend. I was shocked in reading the contents. The Family readiness Group of the North Carolina National Guard, are trying to compose Christmas packages for our soldiers. They were asked for one special gift they would like to have. Their answer was a Wii System and some games for the one TV they have for 150 soldiers in each unit Remember only one Wii system was requested. A post was posted by Victoria Felicio to Nintendo@noa.nintendo.com at 19:02:54000 10/22/2007. This was their reply:

Message (#6851-000626-2101\6262101)

Hello Victoria,

Thank you for contacting Nintendo with a donation request for the North Carolina National Guard unit you are building holiday packages for.

I want to let you know that although your request is worthwhile, we will be unable to provide you with a donation of a Wii system. Because we receive many more solicitations than we can accommodate, we generally direct our contributions to large organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, Untied Way, and Boys & Girls Clubs, Nintendo is able to provide assistance and stay involved with our community.

Thank you for thinking of Nintendo.

Sincerely,

Nintendo Of America Inc.
Mina Harris

Please tell me how you feel about their response, and I’m sure you all have someone serving in this war in Iraq. Me personally had brought a system for my grandson for Christmas, as of today I returned it. Our soldiers lives are nothing to this Company that makes billions from these soldiers families!
