Hi. I am becoming an insurance sales agent. I am concerned because every company promises the world, and none of them really talk about how to get people to ask for what you are offering.

There are lead companies, but they all promise the world too. Since more than half of what I am being shown is non-sense, is there anyone who can point me in the right direction?

Are there any newer agents that have been successful? And if so, can you share with me what you did to make people want your services?

Do you have anything of value that entices people? Something! I really dont want to feel like I am pulling teeth to get people's business.

Thanks so much.

I know this is probably a complicated formula, but if someone could give me a general idea, I'd be grateful. In 2006 I made (gross) $18,424. I paid 1,648 in federal taxes. I'm single, no dependents, no assets or any kind of IRA or anything like that. But no one can claim me as a dependent of theirs, either. So I'm pretty much alone.

Will I get any money back? Will I end up owing more? :(

The company I work for froze our pension. I have a 401k with a decent company match. I add to my savings every week, but with nothing more being added to my retirement. I was thinking about reducing the amount I put into the savings and starting an IRA. Can you add to an IRA on a weekly basis? Is this the best way to supplement my retirement?

I make around $38,200 a year. Of that, $8,200 went to taxes. $4,156 for Federal Withholding, $463 for Fed MED/EE, $1,981 for Fed OASDI/EE, and $1,597 for CT withholding. I'm single with no dependents. Can someone give me a rough estimate as to how much I will get on my tax return? Thank you very much!

Is anyone an Optician and know about how much they make? Acording to Salary.com in the area that I live in they make aprox 33-47k. BUt then when I go look at like monster and hotjobs.com everything says you need no experience or a degree (even though the local college has a degree program in it) and they only make about 20-25.

How much does your credit score drop with one late payment?

I have been reading LAST month's credit report, thinking it was due on teh 16th like usual. It's not. It was due on the 9th and we're paying tomorrow.

Please tell it won't drop too much. I have NEVER been late. My credit score WAS 750 last time I checked.
