I have an entry level position and I want to spend time with someone in management and pick her brain. I thought I'd invite her to "do lunch" and talk about her work, etc. Keep in mind this is a professional thing, and not a date or anything like that. Am I expected to pay, or is the bill split? Thanks! (we work at a radio station)

Some facts:
May home was recently appraised for 150,000 more than what I am currently paying a mortgage on. Now does that mean I can get a home equitly loan for like ten percent of that money? I am not really interested in refinancing.

I began working for my current employer 14 months ago. After four months I approached the human resource director and questioned him on the medical insurance I was told I would receive upon hire. At that time I had received no enrollment forms or waivers. I was told that I was outside my ninety days and that i would have to wait for open enrollment, consequently leaving me uninsured. In August of this year I had a major heart attack resulting in a $30,000 bill. Was my employer negligent according to the law, in not delivering the appropriate enrollment information in a timely manor?

I just started working for an employment agency. I want to work temporary to permanent (to be sure I like the environment and people). I am looking for legal secretary positions. When I push for a larger hourly rate, I usually get it, making me think the agency must be making alot of money from this. I am going on an interview on Thursday, and I was told to absolutely not discuss salary or benefits with the representatiave from that law firm. If I am to stay there past temporary then I want to be able to ask about reviews for merit raises and vacation/sick-day benefits. If I don't know this stuff, how do I know that I even want to work there? My objective is to find a permanent place, so I need to know some info about the temporary position. Thanks so much for any insight you can offer. I am new to this.

Recently my superior got promoted. There are two of us who would want the job internally and they say they do want to promote one of us into the vacant position. But my boss said to me today that they are going to split some of the duties between us and then decide in 12 months which of us should get the job. My boss says this is because he doesn't think either of us has the experience to do the job. Yet last year when my superior was working out of the department I was the one who ended up taking on most of his duties (without any extra pay or recognition) and even at the moment I end up dealing with a lot of the rubbish that should end up being my superiors job if he's not around or too busy to deal with it. I think without a clear superior its going to be impossible for people outside our department to know who they should be talking to when they need something done which is esential for what we do. Am I right to be p***** off?

I received a tax extension because of various problems. I am in the process of paying my 2005 taxes and missed the deadline because of a lengthy hospital stay.
Last year I received a lump sum payment from Social Security disability for past payment and had to pay the full amount to a private disability insurance for payments I received from them in past years. This amount is not really income because I had to turn it all over to the private company. Can it be declared healthcare payments? Is there anyway I can declare this as a medical deduction of some kind? Is there some kind of deduction I can make? All I was paid this year was a small amount of SS disability because the private insurance company quit paying. I am in the process of a lawsuit with them. I have so many medical deductions I will probably still not have to pay any additional tax but I would like to get a bigger refund than I would receive if I have to use the $18,000.
Thanks for your help.

January 2006: my FICO is 778.
Checking my credit Report on May 2006: 90 days late payment/ collection with gas company Peoples Energy. (forgot to order final bill, all bills keep coming to the previous address). FICO 688. Collection was paid off imediately.
October 2006: collection is shown as paid, but FICO is 692.
Question: what should I do to improve FICO? How I may delete collection from my credit report? Thank you!

I am looking to rent a room out to help me pay a crippling mortgage my ex has left me with. Can I find a template anywhere which can give me guidelines as to the terms and conditions for the lodger. I just know that I will leave out a heap of stuff that I will later regret. Another question would be, what should I charge? (a double bedroom in a semi in dunstable) thanks to any response.

I have a property in East london that has made about 30K profit. i also have an apartment in Melbourne Australia with about 110-120K (aus) left to pay on the mortgage. with the currency rates as they are the profit from my London place would fully pay off the Australian property. I would then by a place outside london for a lesser price and have about the same size mortgage in the UK as before. Is this the best thing to do or should I keep paying both mortgages but get a bigger UK place? Is there something I haven't considered?
