To work in a pub kitchen and/or to be a waitress, you have to be 16. As long as you are not selling alcohol it's fine, but as I'm sure you know, you have to be 18 to work behind the bar.
(Make sure you get at least minimum wage-pubs are bad for under paying their staff, also make sure you get a legitimate pay slip, not just a written receipt-this signals that they may be committing tax fraud)
Hope you enjoy your new job xxx

I started working in a pub kitchen at 14 doing washing up and waitressing. But I couldn't use the grill, oven or chip fryer until I was 16. This was 4 years ago so I don't think it would of changed since then. But it is up to your employer to check this out.

Hi>
My understanding is that you need to be 16 to operate in a pub kitchen, and if your ingredients include alcohol, you need permission to pop it in, or be 18.
All the best, I seem to be 50, but still can't cook properly.
