When applying for a new job can the company find out the reason for leaving your last job? Can they find out whether you resigned or were let go? Also, if you were in fact let go can they find out what you were let go for? I'm having an arguement with a buddy of mine and he thinks they can't find out. Anyone know?

Hoping someone can advise here. I have a tenant who has 3 dogs and 2 cats, and the dogs (apart from sleeping inside) occupy the yard. She won't leave the gate unlocked for my gardener to clean. And she wont return my calls. The only time she's responsive is if she needs something repaired. Then she instantly calls me and expects an instant response. Any ideas on what I can do to get her co-operation with the gardener? I'm watching in dread as my property deteriorates...

fancy outdoor work, airport maybe, railways...dont know...im 46, stuck in a deadend job warehouse for a 2bit national press company that only cares about profits not its employees. minimum wage for donkey work. need to get out but want to have a respectable position for a well known company so i can hold my head up for once and still have money to spend after ive paid the bills.

i work there, and i might be the only person people like, im a cashier, and if something rings up wrong, i just give them it for the right price, if the product has no UPC and its like under 3 dollars, i through it in their bag, their sale comes to 10.01, and have a 20 dollar bill, i give them the penny....i usually bring in a quarter a day for that cuz thats less then how many times it happens. ppl like me, i like them, i understand that every1 else who works at my store just absolutely hates their job, but im more laid back, so it just makes me angry to see that i'm the only one tryin to improve customer service.

My husband and I just fired our financial advisor. Over the last 8 years this advisor who charged us fees had lost us approximately $1.2 million in the value of our account. We were in a diversified portfolio of about 8 mutual funds plus 2 bond funds (medium & long term) and some adjustments have been made along the way. We were told and were presented evidence back in the mid 90's that there had never been a rolling 10 year period where stock prices had negative returns. Except now.

We have now decided to put our money where everyone else goes for protection, insurance companies! Many insurance companies have been around for over 100 years. Yes, some do fail but compared to everything else out there they are very safe.

We want to put our money into annuities which pay interest each year. We also understand annuities are available that pay interest based on a stock index. Also, in 1 year we want to begin to receive a fixed monthly income for life from an immediate annuity.

Mother passed in Sept 05 (she was 61) and I'm the beneficiary on her 401K accts. Trying to determine the best route to avoid paying high taxes.
