I stumbled onto a site called RealtyTrac.com and was able to find a dozen or so homes in my town that are in pre-foreclosure. There is a seven day trial (which gives you the home info, along with contact info in case you want to directly get ahold of the home owner). I know very little about this, but the balance of these homes are SO LOW!

I wonder, does anyone have any experience in dealing with pre-foreclosures? Is it worth the effort in trying to "buy out" the current owner... is it even possible for the "ordinary person" to do??

Thanks in advance for your help!

If my house is completely paid off, are there any disavantages with my situation?

Can someone sue me and take my house?

Are there issues with getting a new loan for a new house?

What problems may I run into, if any?

I'm a freelance photographer and I'm looking for a website on which I can display pictures for others to see without the hassel of maintaining my own site. The few that I know of right now are photoreflect. com, coppermine.com, and collages. net. Does anyone know of any other good ones that might be worth trying? The ability to purchase my photos does not need to be an option, just a nice way to get my name out there a little more, a place to refer perspective clients who want to view my work. Cheap is good, free is best! Thanks!

Bill collectors keep calling our phone number! I have told them that the person they are looking for does not live here! They now have a automatic system and if you answer it kicks in. I want to get this stopped and tired of the harassment! One day I let the phone ring and it rang 35 times! Isn't this harassment? Does any one know what I can do about this? One day I even got in a yelling match with the woman telling her that he doesn't live here and they have the wrong number! Then they wanted to know his work number etc. I didn't give that out! Isn't there something I can do to these people also?

When I got the house, it had 20 years left to pay off. (It was a 30 year loan.) I have been paying extra money every month for 3 years. (That’s how long I have had it). Every extra penny goes to the house loan including extra savings in my bank every month.

In 3 years I have paid off $50,000 off of the principle and owe $33,000 (in principle) left on the loan.

I want to pay it off next year because I want to get pregnant with my first child and would like to be 100% debt free.

If I pay $2350 a month for 15 months I will pay it off next October. Do you think this is a good idea, or should I make the minimum payments instead? The minimum payments are about $600.00 a month. But then I will be paying interest on a house that could be paid off. The interest wouldn’t be worth the money it would save me in taxes.

Some people have told me not to pay it off, but isn’t it best to have no mortgage at all?

My supervisor said working would pay time and a half and it's an OPTION.
I work at a tennis club, we have an event here on 4th of July, the BOSS (not supervisor) is treating it as a normal day and expects everyone to be here.
I explained how I was never told, plans have been made, can't get a babysitter, etc to my supervsior. She said don't worry about it, but yet I am, this is B.S.
Corporate pays me my time for 4th fo July, is this considered MY holiday? I'm confused.

I noticed on my credit report a few months ago that Cavalry Portfolio put a collections on my report for an alleged debt with AT&T wireless. I sent them a VOD and they didnt respond. I sent a letter to FTC and BBB also because i never in my life had an account with AT&T wireless. Calvary then responded to the BBB saying I must have AT&T corp confused with AT&T wireless, which on my credit report it states AT&T wireless. But anyway, they told BBB they was sending the debt back to the original creditor. Why would they do that? Is it because they knew the debt was fake fron the beginning?

I recently signed a contract to buy a new home from the builder, previous contract fell through, the home is ready for move in, I was told closing costs would be paid by the builder. The contract is contingent upon me financing thru the builders mortgage company. I paid a pretty large earnest fee, 8k. I was reluctant to pay this without talking to the lender first but of the course I was told their mortgage co would be able to provide any other rates that banks quoted me. As it was, I had a preapproved loan, and yes it is at a much better rate. Now it looks like I am stuck with this deal. The papers provided by the mortgage co don't reflect any closing costs being paid by the builder, they actually have my earnest money listed in this block. Am I being taken for a ride here? Any help out there?

I have been put on the carpet by my supervisor and threatened with termination for insubordination because I would not got to work on a day that I was not scheduled to work, not on the clock and called at home halfway through the workday that I was being ordered to work on. Is this insubordination? Is this a legal standing for termination?
