Would it be entirely weird if I just started wearing head scarves out of nowhere? I really like the way some of them look (http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl) however I have no actual religious or moral reason for doing this.

Background on me: I'm strange, I'm a religious studies/anthropology double major with every intention of joining the Peace Corps, and I'm prone to doing strange things with my "look".

Quick reference for what I look like:

And yes, I would like the wholly unbiased opinion of random strangers. Thank you :)

I recently heard of tri-color highlights. (Getting highlights but instead of just highlighting it one color, getting three different colors). I have darkk brown hair, I was thinking Red/Auburn and Natural blonde..not sure about the 3rd color or if I even want a 3rd color. Any ideas, experiences, or pictures? Thank you.

I need to find a good quality shampoo that helps with poofiness and split ends that is affordable (preferably under 5 dollars cause its ridiculous to spend more than that on one bottle of shampoo). Ideas anyone?

I am African American and have been growing my hair out for a long time now wearing it natural. Sometimes I would press and curl it.

I went to a local Beauty Salon that specializes in ethnic hair and wanted a professional press n curl. The Hairdresser asked if I wanted my ends trimmed because it would "look" better. I have soft fine curly hair and it looked good to me. I at first said, "NO" and then decided on the TRIM, NOT a hair cut. I even told her just "sweep off the ends" which is less than an actual trim.

Before I went to that Salon my hair was way past my shoulders and now it's just below my ears "near" my shoulders. I DID not ask for that! I told her I wanted to keep my hair past my shoulders. I took $10 off her fee and explained that she did not do what I told her to do. My ends were NOT that dead for crying out loud.

WHY DO HAIRDRESSERS DO THIS TO PEOPLE?

I would especially love to hear from Beauticians, Salon Owners, Hair Stylists, etc. on this one.

I really love coloring my hair but my mother always says that hair coloring will damage the hair and make it thin because it cause hair falling and also white hairs will appear soon..I really want to know if this is true..

I had fine, stick-straight (and I do mean STICK-straight) hair growing up. Sometime mid- to late-20s my hair became wavy. It is now thick(!) and quite wavy. Does this really happen? I do use haircolor (L'oreal Feria) and include more fat in my diet than I used to. Could my hair texture really have just changed, or does the "wave" reflect damage from haircoloring?
