Would it be entirely weird if I just started wearing head scarves out of nowhere? I really like the way some of them look (http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl) however I have no actual religious or moral reason for doing this.
Background on me: I'm strange, I'm a religious studies/anthropology double major with every intention of joining the Peace Corps, and I'm prone to doing strange things with my "look".
Quick reference for what I look like:

And yes, I would like the wholly unbiased opinion of random strangers. Thank you :)

There is a huge Muslim population on my campus, so I am planning on avoiding tying mine the same way the Muslim girls tie theirs. This is mostly to avoid ruffling any feathers, I don't want to make people think I'm trying to steal their culture or anything. Honestly, I'm more concerned about making other people angry than I am about being mistaken for a member of something I'm not involved with.

Well, I'm certainly a random stranger. I believe that people should wear what they feel comfortable in. If you look good in it, wear it (within reason).
Be aware, however, that full coverage scarves are seen as a religious statement in most places, and people will likely ask you questions or stare at you or make assumptions. If you don't mind that kind of statement, go for it.

Hi, Amish Vomit Cake,
No, it would not be weird, for a college woman. You probably know boys who are trying to convince the world that 23 hairs constitute a "beard".
I went to UC Berkeley in the late 1960's. We had Africans in tribal dress (to attract women; they were not showing off, just taking advantage of predilections), hippies, fraternity boys in button-down shirts and pressed Levi's, sorority girls in pleated wool skirts, knee socks and cute blouses, the occasional orthodox Jew in robes and a couple of Mennonite women with the little prayer caps.
I search the Q for "Peace Corps" every once in a while. If you have every intention of joining, you might talk to a recruiter now. He/she might be able to steer you towards a valuable course. If you can take a class or two in TESL as an elective, for instance, you'll have a better chance of getting in and will do a better job once you are in.

As anything else, it's a question of cost vs. benefits. Why do you think most of us say "don't care!"? Because generally people do care. Well, this is the cost. You know exactly neither the cost, nor the benefit because it depends who you meet and how you feel that day. I think that's why you ask. Well, nobody can tell you. How to find out? Go and try it in places where nobody knows you. Then think about how you feel. I think this will be your answer. Good luck!

Hey... i go to USF too and i work where there is nothing but international students. And i feel you... i think it look so cute that they have those scarves on!! I get jealous! But you don't want to offend anyone and you don't want to look like you are trying to imitate them because they might also take offense to it. You might want to talk to one of the students and see the background of the head scarves and how she would feel if you wore one, and what she would think if you wore one. because honesty as an American i don't really know how they would take it.

No, plus head scarves are coming back into the season.. Some people wear head scarfs for style, keep hair into place, cover up, or just protect their hair.

There will always be people out there who will make assumptions about your beliefs or will frown at you "stealing" their culture. Bah! They'll do it anyway, regardless of what you do. I say do what you want. Fashion is arbitrary. You may as well do what makes YOU feel good about yourself. If you like it, do it. It's just clothes. Have fun!

it isn't a lot the headscarf, it truly is the nature and temperament of the guy wearing the headscarf. If the guy is type and polite no concerns, in the journey that they are rude and boastful then sure, I particularly have a issue. a headscarf by technique of itself is largely somewhat of fabrics.

You can put on the scarf at times. It is not necessary for you to wear daily.
