The colors don't go where I want them to go, and the shapes don't follow what I try to do. When I try to paint a curve nice and smooth, it comes out all crooked. When I try to make the lines turn a particular way, they don't go where I try to go.

The picture paints itself, and it's not what I wanted to paint. Is it still art?

I want to buy such unique gift for a friend, but gallery pricing is still way too much... But between eBay and L.A.'s gallery row, I can't figure out how to get in touch with such painters, so I can see works with my own eyes and hopefully make a purchase.
I tried politely contacting painting teachers in nearby colleges, and got zero responses.

i love all the abstract paintings that are out now, but some of them are very expensive to buy. i know deep down that i could paint one myself, but so far i am only good at copying normal drawings. my husband has bought me some canvases, acrylic paints, brushes ect, but i am scared to start!! want to paint something that has logic but no meaning, i know that some abstracts look as if a monkey has painted them! but if there is imagination, then someone with imagination could see something in it. do i just grab my brushes and go for it!!!!

My mother is taking painting classes and the teacher told her to use either Dove or Ivory soap on the brushes to make them last longer and keep them soft. She can't remember if the woman said Dove or Ivory soap.

I'm very curious about the special cosmetic "paints" that "Body Art" artists use to paint on people faces and body.

What is the name of that special cosmetic "paints"?

And

Where can I buy them? (Online is ok)

Thank you for any of your help.

Do you think modern art is an intriguing and deep form of expression, or, a doof with a canvas and the ability to draw a squiggly line or drip paint?

its a painting of a man and a woman and they're on their balcony and the eiffel tower is in the backround. Its a newer painting but i dont know who the artist is so im not sure how to find it. I saw it in a store once and fell in love with it, but now the store is shut down and i have no way of finding out what the store was called. I tried searching on google images and yahoo images but i cant find it because if i make my search too specific then the computer wont find anything. But if i make my search less specific then the computer will pull up a million paintings and none of them will be the one im looking for. What should i do?

I have some ring ideas. Well, I don't want to leave the bottom of the ring-blank plain becaue some of the glue I will use might show. I want to be able to pour some paint onto the glue/metal and have it not flake off really easily.

I have noticed with my newly bought tubes of watercolors, that some colors, mainly cobalt violet and burnt sienna, have sort of seperated the pigment from the gum arabic solution. I have really worked with watercolors that much, and I am in a college watercolor class. Everytime I squeeze out the color of those two specific ones I mostly get the clear liquid and then some pigment. Any ideas on mixing it up in the tube or what has happend. Thanks!!!

Does anyone know the name of the site on Yahoo! movies where the guy speed paints the Statue of Liberty while Hendrix is playing the "Star-Spangled Banner" in the background? The painting is done very quickly and the "canvas" is spun around on a lazy susan-like apparatus. I have seen this once, and would like to see it again. Thanks!

Have you heard of the painting "The Crying Boy". There is a history behind it and anyone who has a copy of the painting becomes cursed. Usually their house burns down. Does anyone know the full story and have you heard of it?
