Drawing & Illustration

I recently bought a bike helmet and wish to personalise it by drawing dragons and chinese characters onto it. would like to know how i can go about doing it. Would also like to know what kind of paints i can use to create a lasting picture.

I majored in fine art 17yrs ago, and loads of experience in textiles and fashion, due to paying of bills i have done a variety of jobs from dressmaker, to currently secondary school teacher, which i have had enougth, i just want to go back to being creative again, any suggestions how?

I'm just wondering how long it takes to learn how to shade your drawings? I've tried it for several weeks and I'm not seeming to get the hang of it, maybe I'm not doing it right? But I really have no idea where to get more information on learning to shade.

Well the thing is i love to draw anime, final fantasy type realism and animals. I just figured out today that i can draw antro(half animal people) too! I want to go to college for Photography and Sculpture/Ceramics. The only way that I can take these is if I go for a B.F.A or M.F.A, and all the fine arts courses involve painting and drawing, well here is my problem, I am horrible at drawing and painting!! Is that bad? What should I do if this is what my college choice is?

If you look at a picture for a certain amount of time. Then stop looking at it and try to draw from memory and you keep practicing on that will you become a better artist or even more better at remembering things
