you have to try new things or you will never learn, you can't just live in a little box, i paint fantasy mainly faeries and mermaids etc then switched to jewellery making, i felt guilty for switching over away from my art but it's all art besides i make pendants from prints of my original paintings for some so i have just expanded, it's the same for you, i think your heart lies with fantasy no matter what but there's alot in the genre and you'll probably discover new mediums too, just go with it it a natural progression

When you first discover that you have a talent in "another type" of drawing or drawing different things, you may feel guilty like you aren't staying true to yourself. But just remember- art wouldn't be art if it didn't grow, mature, and change. It is normal when you are an artist to evolve.

Gimme a high five!
I love drawing all of the genres of things you have just listed although I believe I'm no good.
Don't worry about the wierd feeling, it's like introducing a new pet into a home of old ones.
Soon you won't even notice the change:)
Good luck with these mythical creatures;

Hippogriff,
Centaur,
Unipegasus,
Chinese/Japanese dragons,
Minotaur,
Herpie and Kelpie.

No, you shouldn't feel guilty. Great artists have great imaginations. Mythology of many cultures had half animal - half human creatures. Set your imagination free and draw whatever you feel like. Maybe you could eventually get a job as an illustrator or animator, or write and illustrate your own stories.

Hey. It's good to try new things. If you love to draw, great. But don't be afraid to experiment with different techniques. Who knows you might be able to combine both mediums. And who knows it might turn out fantastic.

Absolutely not. Most artists create in different styles, atleast until they find what really fits for them. If it feels weird to look at them in the same sketch book, try using different books for different styles.

you will never improve your skills if you do not try new things or harder subjects. do not worry about things looking weird-when you first do something, it may be uncomfortable or strange and you might not get it on the first few times-but do not let that deter you from drawing harder subject matter or different subjects. it's all part of developing your skills.

Don't feel guilty when trying new things in your art. If you didn't try, then how would you thrive as an artist? It's good to broaden your art.

the only way you will grow in your art is if you experiment with new things. this is what moves you forward and what makes you stand out from everyone else. love it. show it off, mix it up. keep trying new things.
