I draw comics and lately I've gotten an idea that involves a small child. I want to give him that ageless quiality kids on cartoons have. This is usually aquired by making their heads gigantic and their bodies considerably smaller. Think "The Fairly Odd Parents" or "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy". However, I've been having trouble making it look proportional. I know it's not suppopsed to be really proportional since their bodies are the same size as their heads, but mine just look... weird. Will it come with practice or am I doing somthing wrong?

I'm not sure how font copyrights work...

If I hand-draw lettering based on a font I found online (to title an illustrated story for publication), Is this against copyright laws? I mean, I'm not actually typing with the actual font, just referencing it as I hand-draw the lettering.
Is doing this any different from, say, drawing a TV cartoon character for spoofing purposes?

i want a gel pen thats really inky but i hate that gel pens bleed through the paper. i found this pen that is like a permanent pen that is guaranteed not to leak but i forgot what the pen was. does anyone know any gel pen that doesn't bleed through paper?

ps. i like the pen to be really inky not like the pilot g2's

(i dont want a pen that is like $20 i just need a pen like an ordinary pilot pen.)

My fiance and I are wanting one of those caricature drawings of us together. There are no fairs or artists in the area where we live, so I thought about going through one of the websites where you email them a picture and they make a caricature out of it and send it back to you. Is it necessary to have good pencil and paper in order to draw really good? this sounds like a dumb question, but what are some tools that you would recommend for a beginner? I want to learn how to draw portraits, so do I need any kind of blending tool? or would I be able to do that with only a pencil? will normal pencil no.2 work?
