U need to figure out which direction is your source of light to the object you are drawing then the oposite direction to the light would be the darkest area, now u can shape up the drawing into 3d look. HB pencil has got the medium tone H is lighter and 6h is the lightest. Simularly B has got the draker tone and 6B is darkest. Probably u can tryout the in between grades in H and B as well. You can roll the paper as a cone and use the point to smooten the shade, which turns ur drawing into photo print. Try some shadows as well to make it more real.
When u become expert shading it u can do wholething with just 6B. Take my words, itz easy.

Are you using a soft enough pencil? Can you pinpoint where your light source is so your shading is on the correct side of what you are drawing? Try using a paper shader available at the craft store. You gently rub it on your shading area and it beautifully blends your pencil lines. Shading can make an ordinary drawing come alive so keep at it!

Well, it's okay for drawing light outlines not much option for shading with it, but if you want to get a full range of values from dark to medium dark to light, you'll want to get some art pencils. At least a 4B HB and a 2H, you've done some pretty good artwork with just that mechanical pencil, but you'll find you're artwork moves to a whole new level once you use the right tools.
