Hi, i'm a designer and i know that being creative is very important.

So it is about a cartoon drawing. But lately, i was very pissed off when my friend stated that one of my drawing is a copycat to some drawing. i just don't how to make an argument with him.

To some degree, design grow/expand by copying other design then improvise it. it IS true. But not 100%, agree?

It is just NOT fair if you see a man, you draw a cartoon of his eyes, then your friend says that it must be a copycat to some drawing style. (having said this, i know that when i draw, i don't think of any other cartoon, I just draw what looks nice to me)

what i do is not to copy other drawing BUT to think how i'm gonna make my drawing more like a drawing, how to make it looks nicer.

Tell me if being creative in making new drawings really does count.

Please help me explain/clear this matter to my friend.

i really love doing comics, 3 panel, etc etc, i'm thinking of starting my own web site... i'd also really love to be able to profit from it... if the comics do well, but unsure if it would just be a hobby...

Hi I am a beginner in drawing.
Now I am practicing with oil paint on canvas, and recently discovered that I also like charcoal.
I was wondering If I could draw with charcoal on a canvas?
Thank's.

I posted a question similar to this, and I got pretty helpful answers. Now that I have edited my picture (a lot), what else can I do to make it better?

Here is the link to my sketch. Sorry, I can't delete the watermarks. (original sketch): http://www.geocities.com/hikarinobishonen/oldersasuke.jpg (edited sketch): http://www.geocities.com/hikarinobishonen/oldersasuke2.jpg If you compare them, there are differences.

The second link is missing a lot of lines (such as the eyes, the headband, & the shirt). That's because I'm going to add them later. I hope that you can imagine it with the lines, and that it isn't too bothersome. As for the first link, you can see how deformed it was! *shudders*

Now, what can I do to make the second link look better? Is the head still too big? Do I still have to make him more fat? Does his hand look right? Oh and you can't see the hand in the straight arm because the sleeves are long (Would you understand that without reading this?).

Thank you!

It's going to be a full size picture of the "Predator" on my forearm. I always liked the Predator and I was thinking of getting it tattoed on my forearm. What do you think?

I found the site a year ago but it got deleted from my wonderful computer; it had several various artist-- beginning artists mainly but the art(drawings and color pictures) were wonderful! It had fantasy art (dragons,fairies,elves,etc...) The background for the site was a darker color although I can't remeber much else except you got to chose a catergory and then there were several pictures to look at like 200 or something like that. If anyone knows of this site are any others similar to this description PLEASE let me know! Thanks and have a great weekend!

I have a drawing I want to put on a background. The problem is, I don't know how to. It tried copying and pasting but then it has a white outline when I paste it on the background. I've seen some very beautiful artwork done on PSP and the background and drawing are usually done seperately, yet it doesn't look like it because they don't have that white outline around it. How can I do this to my artwork too?
