In the past I've used linseed oil and turpentine for a medium. I want to have the paint dry faster - I'm looking for recipes. Someone told me that the mixture of Stand Oil, turpentine, cobalt drier and Damar varnish is excellent. Any thoughts or other recipes?

i don't have much idea about painting...so if i want to paint an abstract image with just colours...which denotes me and my life..what should be the colours..which i would use?

if i say...i am moody...a bit stupid...short-tempered...deep-thinker...and loves the emotion "love" (love forms a very important part of my life)...

would there be any specific colours which would denote these characterestics?

Obviously it is good for sculptors molding it, but what if I want to hammer it?

Is it soft enough (like lead is) for pounding it into shape with a hammer without breaking my hands?

Someone gave me an original oil painting of flowers 4'x5'.
It is signed by "Lee Reynolds". It is not stamped "Vanguard Studios" on the back, but there is the number 3166 written on one of the wooden cross members on the back. Any info anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am looking for a kind of camera where you can take black & white pictures, but like if the person had blue eyes, you can see the blue in the persons eyes, but the picture would still be black & white. And i also want the reg. black & white, negitave, mono, & sepia with the different black & white. Im wanting it to be kinda cheep...but what ever works , works.. Can you help please!!!

I sold one today. It was a painting I only finished two days ago. A painting I really didn’t get a chance to sit back and look at and savor. All I have now is photographic copies of it:

I sold this for many reasons. The sale will help me restock a supply of canvases, brushes and paints. It also seems to validate the artist’s efforts to sell a painting now and then, doesn’t it?

So, when someone offers to buy one your works what is your honest, realistic reasons for selling your art? Validation? You need the money? You hope it will lead to fame and fortune? You hope somehow it will get you laid?

Be honest.

Which would best describe who you are? A color, an object, a symbol, a certain type of food. Why?

I Identify most/best with a colorful symbol. A pink peace sign. Why? Because pink is a symbol of passion, a certain love has for one thing, and I do like to have peace in my life every once in a while. Your turn!
