My school has a color war type of thing between all the grades. Our grade is red, but unfortunately every store in town is out of face paint. I was wondering if anyone knew of something else that i could use that wouldn't smudge or run when ppl sweat as a substitute

I recently bought a Sailor Profit Brush pen, and I used to use a traditional asian bamboo brush to practice my caligraphy, that brush could take the traditional black asian caligraphy ink, and i was wondering if i could put that into the brush pen. Will it harm it?
Also what is the difference between Sumi-e ink, and asian carbon ink, because someone said if i use the Sumi-e ink, it will harm the pen, but if i use the asian carbon ink it wont.

My professor had an older small kiln (approx. 1.5 ft square) that was a front loading kiln. I used it to fire my porcelain pendants I made. Now I am having a hard time finding another small kiln that will fire high enough for porcelain.
I know paragon has kilns for PMC and stuff, but they only fire to 2000 degrees. Anyone have any suggestions?

...can i apply my second coat of paint if my first coat isn't quite dry yet? Almost 3 weeks ago i painted my background, and i'm getting really impatient. It is almost dry, when i touch it, my fingers aren't full of paint, but i still see it shimmering....that wet look...so what can i do, do i have to wait or what.???

I'd like to have a siimple nude sketch done, but it doesn't necessarily have to reveal anything. I'd like to make it a gift for my husband. Simple, sweet not raunchy.

I am painting pictures with the main subject of motorcycles. You can view them at www.apassion2paint.com . How can I promote them and start getting sales?
I plan on traveling to motorcycle rallies. I have a website/merchant store, I am sending out emails, trying not to spam though.
Please let me know of some great ideas, maybe some you have already tried which have worked!

I want to start a photography/videography with my mother in law. What are some good sites to look at for software and equipment? And any advice on events we should do besides weddings?
How much should we charge?

It's not that I don't do any work. It's just that I hate the stuff i come up with so much that I could never show anyone. Is there any point in me making it at all if this is the way I'll be forever? Slaving away, beating myself up, over making things that I'll never have the guts to show anybody anyway.....

Drawing must be fixed with a suitable fixative and mounted board. White or black board only, if matted.

can you put this in simple words

Having taken up Watercolours when I retired - like you do!
I have come accross the mixed media s etc., and thought I might give Acrylic paint a whirl, but having only recently become aware of Acrylics I wondered........one sees Watercolours and Oils by the old Masters, but never have I seen Acryclics, and as I plan to be the next Grandma Moses..............

I love art, but hate competition within the modern visual arts! This is because I feel that the judging is no fairer than a group of school governers judging an easter egg competition! I also feel that a lot of artists are overlooked because they 'do not fit in'. What do you think? Btw...no I am not an overlooked artist, nor am I a parent whose child's career in art has suffered a set back by losing the last easter egg competition lol!!!!

This is what istock says below in quotes about copyright of figurines. So, are they saying that figurines that are generic and mass produced do not fall under the copyright/trademark law and can be used as the primary subject of a photo and do not have to have a property release? For example, like knick knacks bought at the dollar store, or any knick knack that is massed produced for general sale (does not include figurines such as Lenox)?

"Generally speaking, figurines that are not generic and mass produced will be protected under copyright/trademark law by the creator/manufacture r and cannot be used as the primary (or only) subject of a photo, unless accompanied with a property release.

Allowed: Incorporation into a composition where the figurine is incidental to the predominant focus of the image." - from Istock.com
