Antique means belonging to, made in, or typical of an earlier period This would make something from the 1950's, that was particular only to that era, an antique by definition.
However, if you are talking about collectible antiques, well, thats a different matter. I don't know what criteria they use for terming something antique.

It depends on the generation... My Grandparents wouldn't call anything antique till it was over 100 years old. My Parents seem to think anything 50 years old is antique. I think anything 1000 years old or older is antique and the modern generation thinks anything over 6 months old is antique.

first of all think it has to be historical ... then to get some ages .. and finally it becomes antique.
