Clasic art works by artists such as Monet, Van Gogh, DaVinci and others should be available to the public as any copyrights have surely expired by now. Does anyone know of an on-line database where high resolution scans can be downloaded?

I have painted pictures of other peoples art. For instance, I painted my own version of "Tournee Chat Noir" by Steinlen. I painted it a lot like the original but added some words to it. I'm not trying to steal the picture, but I would like to sell it on eBay and credit the original artist. Is this legal? I've also gotten pictures from Art.com and painted my own versions. Is this plagerism? I wouldn't be taking credit for the pictures. Basically, is it legal to paint my own paintings from famous pictures?

What is the effect if we add some compensation in the camera and in the flash? Is it to get the pictures brighter for the background as well as the object? How about if we increase the ISO then? Thank you for your help

Go to http://www.urbancurators.com
A group of RISD students calling themselves the Urban Curators have spent the last month finding and highlighting art in the most unlikely places in urban Providence. Passersby will noticed gilded, museum style frames on sides of deteriorating buildings, crumbling walls, on fences and on doors.
"By accenting the places that are often ignored or disregarded by passersby, we hope to compel people to reconsider their prior conceptions of beauty and worth," said one urban curator. Their goal is to engage the public in recognizing the aesthetic value of the decaying urban environment and to celebrate overlooked spaces and objects within the City.
They encourage people to get involved by framing something in their own environment and posting it to the website. Essentially, they want everyone to become an urban curator.
More information can be found on the urban curators' website, http://urbancurators.com. Video & map also.

I don't know many people who enjoy manga with as much ferosity(sp?) as I do. If anyone DOES like manga, what is it and which would you recommend and/or prefer? Thanks a bunch to whomever answers.

I've been shopping around; and some of the photo printers have weird specs. You can get some that will have a maximum of 8 1/2" wide paper, with up to 35" in length. I want to be able to print professional quality 11" x 17" photos. What is a good photo printer that will do this--I am hesitant to buy those all-in-one deals. Also, don't want to pay more than $400.

I'm looking for one from above the eagle, looking down on it as it soars. StockXchng, and morguefile didn't have what I needed, and that's about as far as I've gotten. Any ideas? (I would like to find something for free....starving artist here......or at least a very small cost.) Thanks.
