Almost anyone will be accepted. These "schools" are a business.
You pay for their courses, materials, etc....... and when you finish, they issue you a certificate stating that you've finished their courses.
If you want to study art, enroll in a local art class, club, etc....

I was accepted and attended one of the top three (private) Art Schools in the nation. Admittance is limited, 70% applicants are rejected. I first had to submit slides of my art work to be accepted. This was before interractive CD's came along.

Just know that these top notch Art schools keep every piece of art work you do if it's on display. At the begining of enrollement you have to sign a release agreement which allows them rights to keep every piece of art work you do. That was the one thing I didn't like.

Where did you enroll?

true we all start somewhere...rustybone has a very good answer, though, go to local classes and get a hands on teacher and a class that will honestly critique your work (part of being an artist is being able to survive a scathing critique.)
