I just bought a calligraphy pen set at AC Moore. It comes with 2 pens, a lot of plastic ink cartidges, and several nibs. I have heard that it puctures on its own when you screw the top piece on, but it isn't working. I don't think I should puncture it myself because I will make a mess. How do I load this pen???

I'm writing a paper on a work presented in a museum. In the paper I have to talk about th e stylistic period that I think the painting represented, for instance Realism, Impressionism, etc. I was going to call the painting as part of the "realism" style, but in doing my research I came across that it was an American "genre" painting. Is American genre painting a style on its own, or is it a type of realism?

I like anything Jack Vettriano, but my absolute favorite is "Le jeune martyr." I have a framed print in my living room.

I did this last fall and until now have never shown it to anyone except a few friends. It’s not because I’m not happy with the results that I haven’t shown it before. But because I don't like the painting. Still, I don't want to discard it or paint over it..

(Yes, these are it's true colors. I get the opaque sheen effect from adding clear gesso. Creepy, huh! If you're brave enough, you can enlarge the image by clicking on it.)

Have you ever, as an artist, created a work, a sculpture or painting or drawing, and looked at it afterwords and wondered to yourself, ‘What the hell have I done here?’ You ever create something that you don’t personally like after it’s finished but still won’t throw away or paint over? That even if you don't like it you still feel that it will have some meaning to others? Or do you just say the hell with it and paint over it anyway? Or, like me, keep it put away out of sight?

Some asshole drew a penis on my forehead and I was wondering what the best remover is....I've used soap, dawn with bleach, and rubbing alcahol. Some of it came off, but you can still see an outline.

The marker says Alcahol Resistant....and my head hurts now....

Any sites or suggestions...I was thinking along the lines of a foldable box with cards inside but although I've found lots of box designs and templates they're missing the X factor, or an element of surprise... Thanks to all who answer :)

So last night I thought I would do some art. I got a huge paper mache lion's face coming right out of the canvas roaring... But now upon waking up today I have no idea what to do with it!!

What should I put around the lions face? I was thinking maybe a rainbow coloured mane but I would need to put something at the bottom to fill up some space.

P.S. Can you blowdry paper mache to make it dry faster? The lion's face has been drying for 12 hours already and it is still wet.

I live in a college town with a couple great independent gift-type shops and I was wondering how I would go about getting them to sell my photography? I really have no idea how to do this. Should I sell it to them and then they sell it to someone else for a different price?
