NO, photography is not popular anymore. There are no websites. If you Google Photography, portraits etc. All the results are lies. If you go to www.photo.net and look at the images there, they are all computer generated, not real pictures from cameras. And all the advice in the forums like lighting which gives you examples and equipment lists are not real either.

The best way to draw good photos out of yourself is to look at other people's photographs and try to imitate the ones you like. Once you successfully do that you can definitely put your own twist on it or work with it more, but you'll be surprised that even in the process of attempting to imitate a good photo you get a good one of your own.

You can go to different stock photography websites to get ideas of what to shoot. One such site is called Stock.xchng (www.sxc.hu). It's got a large collection of images that are sorted into different subjects. You can even download and use them for your own needs (most of the time. Read the license agreements).

One popular site full of pictures is Flickr. It's also associated with Yahoo! and if you're looking for a certain subject, you can search the site for all pictures tagged with that description.
