Smashed window pane. Wheel thats fallen off a bike. Cracked tv. Broken bottle with red wine spilling out. Smashed plates across the floor. Cracked cd that plays the same line over and over. Guitar without strings. Headless dolls. Glasses without the glass. I'm just thinking of things i've broken...

I did a project similar to this when i was at school. I photographed cars in a scrap yard, mostly close ups of rust and various broken parts of the car. Also at college during an other project ( growth and decay) i photographed abandoned buildings that had become deralict, i photographed things like broken windows and walls that were falling down.
Hope this helped.

I think smashed china or glass, splintered wood, shattered windscreen, scratched car, dilapidated buildings with dangling shutters, broken wire, disfigured statues, cracked pavements, shop windows that have been kicked in or rammed into, damaged street signs, upturned tombstones, bombardments, disfiguration, vandalism, graffiti, crazy paving, mosaic, broken chains, old bicycles or those bits still chained to railings because the rest has been pinched, ruins, pile ups on motorways, bent knitting needles, ripped curtains, flaking paint, Venice,Tsunami, torn posters, violence, stone throwing, broken bottles used as weapons (Damilola), bullet holes in the walls of buildings in Budapest, places that have been torched or burnt down, war zones, broken promises, failed marriages, broken spirits, Frankenstein, torture instruments, flick knives....The list is non ending. I hope this gives you a few ideas.
I am sure a psychologist would make great deduction from this sequence!

You could use something to symbolize a dream, like a snow globe broken on the floor. You should also use a snowman in the middle of all the broken pieces but instead of it having a happy face have it with an unhappy face with a tear drop running down it's face

I picture a toy plane, like one of those hollow-winged things, all smashed on the floor, and wing's broken, and you can see all the empty space inside of the wing.
