I'm writing a roughly 25 page paper on the Ontological Argument for God's existence as a writing sample for my graduate school applications. I think I have all of my bases covered in my argument, but I want to make sure. For those familiar with the argument (any version- Anselm, Descartes, Kant, Plantinga), what do you think? Is the argument valid or invalid? If valid, how? If invalid, what's the fallacy?

Note: I am NOT asking whether or not God exists, so please do not answer this question. My question is ONLY about this one specific philosophical argument.

Thanks for your input!

If every single one of us somehow disappeared right now, this world and the miracle of life would still go on, and grow, and change, and thrive, etc. Of course not human life, but life itself would continue to live on...

How important are humans in the scheme of things?

Please, no patent religious answers.

Thanx

I am not talking about just in regards to relationships, but even to not being able to sign a long-term lease to live somewhere, make an ADVANCE reservation for a plane-even somewhere I want to go, make plans to get together with friends, make advance appointments for medical treatment. This society runs on schedules, advanced planning, signing leases, etc. and I freeze into paralysis with anxiety of being locked in to anything! Yes, that includes work (I freelance). I only can bear one day at a time. This is serious and I can't afford a therapist (which would require an advance appointment and money), so I would appreciate any help in this.

Why do people run when it comes to fear or when they are happy (ex. scenes in movies of happy people running thorough fields).

think that there is a possiblility that its not real and truly see it as a valid idea? or do they just study external world skepticism and stuff like that from a hypothetical point of view and NOT see it as a possiblility?

Okay, I'm working on an assignment in which I need to translate deductive arguments into propositional logic.

The first question is:
"I do know that this pencil exists, but I could not know this if Hume's principles were true. Therefore Hume's principles are false."

I realize you don't want to answer my assignment for me, and that's not what I want either,I just need to know how to do it myself. I don't really completely understand what a deductive argument and propositional logic are, so if someone could explain that, and possibly either make up a deductive argument and then translate it for me, or use the example I've provided, that would be great.

Thanks!

its called "walk away"

I don't want to hear it,
so just stop,
close your mouth,
and just walk away,
even if it's just for the day,
at least I'll have some serenity,
without having to be pestered by you,
can't you see,
I don't sympathize,
the words that come out of your mouth,
it seems like gibberish,
trying to comprehend what you enunciate,
feels like,
I'm trying to understand bird talk,
I've tried so hard,
to understand you,
but it's just not functioning,
maybe some other day,
I'll finally get you,
but for now,
please just let it be,
and walk away.

What do you think? Do you like it? could u please rate it from 1 to 10. OH and should i replace the word, "functioning" with the word "working" or just leave it alone?

Please help me apply the Philisophical viewpoints of Plato, Aristotle and Augustine to the play Hamlet. I am trying to write an essay on how Hamlet should act according to the philosophy of each of these Philosophers. Thank you for any input.
