think that there is a possiblility that its not real and truly see it as a valid idea? or do they just study external world skepticism and stuff like that from a hypothetical point of view and NOT see it as a possiblility?

like solipsism and external world skepticism. do people actualy think these theories are possible?

If by "doubts reality" you mean "doubts that the physical world is real", then yes they do consider it a real possibility, and there have been philosophers that subscribed to this view (called metaphysical idealism).

Skepticism isn't the view that the physical world doesn't exist, it's the view that we cannot know- it is a theory relating to epistemology, not metaphysics.

If you condiser philosophy a science, then you must consider the world in the same terms as you would in any other science. So the world can not exist only because we can see it, you must be able to prove that it does. Yes philosophers truely believe that the world does not exist until there is proof that it does.

When it boils down to it, people want to believe that thier life just isn't as sucky or horrible so they come up with explinations of why reality isn't real. Or that there is a possibility that reality isn't the true state of mind.

I think it has to do with awarness, they like any of us, has the capability of telling which is what!
When you say a philosopher doubts reality i think u are mistaken. All he/she does is to interpret a different one!
