I was shamed, moved to tears and made to feel very humble when I witnessed:
4 young {5 to 10 year old children} carrying & neatly stacking Bricks from their Bomb damaged home in which their Mother & Grandmother had been killed during the height of the Troubles in Londonderry N.I.
These Kids would not let anyone else help them, while they had made 2 stacks of the bricks, on which they placed some very sorry looking flowers & small wooden crosses {they had made out of sticks}
They then knelt in front of these Brick monuments and prayed: I and the other six British Sailors who were privilaged to witness the moving tribute that these very young individuals payed to their dead Mother & Grandmother, made me wish that it had been filmed and been shown on every television screen around the world:
I am sure that the global response would have given a true & lasting message of the reality and effect "Secretarian--Ethnic &
Political confrontations" actually create to families and the communities they live within.
I am sure the screening of those young caring kids would have done more to have reduced the type of destruction, mayhem, distrust and hatred; that is becoming more prevalent as each day passes: In the very troubled world we live in today!

As my son was being born he looked straight into my eyes, so I was just about the first thing he ever saw. he is still the most exquisite thing I've ever seen.
Also I remember when I was young-the day Charles and Diana got married- we were at a street party and it was starting to get dark. I looked up into the sky and saw this round ball which looked like it was covered in either wings or flames and they were all flapping. I can't remember what colour it was-possibly orangeyor yellow (well it was 1981) but I remember being rooted to the spot and unable to tell anyone until it had gone. My mum said it was a fireball.

I see it ever day at around three o'clock in the afternoon. This is when my six year old daughter gets off the bus at the bus stop and she's walking toward me with a smile. And just for a second I see myself as a child and remember my mother's love, only this time it's me loving her and I see it in her eyes. It's really the little things that are magnificent in life. The things you pass by everyday and never really take the time to look up.

Pompeii in 2005, it was AMAZING. The way everything had been preserved was awesome but what made it so special for me was the feel of the place. It was a tragic and beautiful place and I cant wait to go back.
The toher thing that even now as Im typing is bringing on goosebumps is thinking of my hubbys face when I walked into the wedding room last August. Cant describe it but the love that was in his face.....wow. Great question, thanks for making me think of all the good things in the world - that doesnt happen enough! Xx

Our Antiguan Sunset and a picturesque Caribbean sky magnificently designed with different types of clouds during the day and so beautifully lit by millions of stars by night. Most people only see these in photographs or paintings - I get to see it real almost everyday and I'm always in awe of it. It reminds you that God is the creator of the universe!
I starred this question because I am greatful to you for helping to remind me that I live in a part of the world that can be considered to be a lil bit of paradise.

I saw the Northern Lights once when I was at home in Scotland, it's something I have always wanted to see but never thought I would get around to going anywhere that they are visible. It was a huge and beautiful surprise to see them flashing across the sky over the mountains behind my house. I called my whole family out to see them and we all stood in peace in the garden for about 20 minutes watching them. It was quite unforgettable and has made me more determined to go somewhere that I will be able to see them again!!

It was the sky at night, I was looking out from my balcony to the city, and I had a profound sense of the unity of all things. Everything felt interconnected, I saw the taillights of a car on the hill, lights on a plane in flight, all the windows glowing below, and I was able to relate it all together, to a single, inseperable whole and I was a part of it, it was like melting out of myself into the world.... for about two weeks afterwards I was in a 'transcendant' state of mind...
what brought it about was sitting still for hours in one place- when I shut my eyes it was still light, when I opened them the sun had set... and listening to Kula Shaker whilst I did it, that helped maybe. I think if you remain still for a long time you get to appreciate every movement you make, and if you do it enough, maybe you can start to see the world from a different angle. Whilst I sat I was concentrating on my breathing, but letting my thoughts follow their own course as well... when I opened my eyes, it was as if all thoughts went quiet. That's when I rose out of my chair, switched the music off, and opened the door to stand on the balcony... and saw the night sky.

When we were in Greece out in the country with no light pollution we stopped the car and lay down looking up at the stars. I live in the city so I had never seen the stars properly before (and haven't since) so it was absolutely stunning, beyond words. It really makes you think about 'life the universe and everything.' I even saw a satellite moving across the sky.
