Is it plausible to think of the universe as completely static, while the movement of planets, barking of dogs, chatting of game show hosts, bowel movements, etc. are all only distortions of human subjective reality?

Does anyone believe that we all have a set time when we will die, like an invisible death clock above our heads? And when the time comes, there's nothing we can do to stop it.

It would go someways to explain why some people are in horrendous accidents but still survive, while another person trips and falls and dies. It might not all be down to 'luck'

Personally, I don't know whether to believe this or believe that death can happen anytime, there's arguments for both sides.

A quote you may or may not have heard. I think it's partially true...

I've found in life that those supposedly intelligent people who have a lot of qualifications seem to have less common sense and general knowledge than those alledgedly without. I'm not saying this is always the case, certainly not, but it happens quite often.

Do you think this is true? If so, why?
If not, why do you think some people hold this opinion?

Thanks

2. Can we call the Indian thieves backward who steal since they don't have money since their stolen money is again stolen by somebodyelse?
3. Can we call the Indian robbers who rob since they don't have anything since their robbed things or money is again stolen by somebodyelse?
4. Can we call the Indian housewives who are not given any money or anything sufficiently?
5. Can we call all the rowdy elements/mafia gangs/terrorists who don't have anything and they just work for money?
5. Other people who don't have anything are all can we call them backward?
Do all the above mentioned people deserve the Government appointments under the new Indian reservation policy?

If people day dream that only SC and ST are backward they are on a dreamland. There are several crores of Brahmin people who don't have one square meals per day all these people are dieing in India. Likewise, even in Christians and Muslims there are people who don't have even one square meals per day are dieing in India. When this is so, Reservation policy should be done properly otherwise put the policy in the dustbin box.

Due to imperfect reservation policy of the Government I did not take up the Government designation. As long as imperfect reservation policy is there I will not take up any designation in Government. (even Peon to PM post)

Why not make reservations from the backward community - a Gypsy for the Prime Minister/President post. This will save several lakhs of rupees for the Government on conducting elections. Entire Army officers could be for the most backward people. And why not give all the ministers/MLA's and MP's both state and Central Government should be given to people who dont know much about anything - our idea is to help and bring the backward people to forward people. My point is to help the backward community with reservations so that the backward community becomes forward community. Please give your ideas on this subject of reservations to the backward community.

I hear this saying time and time again, but only agree with it to a certain extent......would / do you do anything for a peaceful life? if so who is really benefiting from just going along with things? so to avoid confrontation...... is it either of you? or does this allow things to fester, by not facing, or addressing issues?
