No offense, but that's a dumb and pointless question. Maybe that's why it was deleted. Although for a more specific answer to why it was deleted, check the FAQ.

ask the chicken, he will give you "the best answer". I can only guess that he was thirsty, or just likes water.

As to why people keep deleting this question, maybe because they think you are only joking around, or they think it is a silly question. Whats the difference it is a free country and you can do what you want. Just keep asking, have fun.

Because they must have figured it is not relevant in Philosophy.

But this question really is, very relevant in Philosophy, the way I see it.
So many answers can be brought out with this question, and yet not too many can see the philosophical thoughts you are trying to pass around.
The chicken went into the water because that is where her haven of calm and solitude is
The chicken went to the water to see her pond flower who is the giver of inner peace and beauty to her
The chicken went to the water because that is her only planet
the chicken went to the water to see her friends frog, and fish who talk to her everyday before the the sunrises.
There are so many more answers to that question, it is just all up to us to relay the primordial message as it was seen by our early greek philosophers, christian thinkers , the sophists, realists etc. as how every little creation in this universe relate to the macrocosm itself.

We have chickens. They are very selfish.

You are assured of getting a drink if you are standing in the middle of the water dish.

Love and blessings Don

Wait. R u saying there is Censorship? On a dumb question?

The chicken doesnt know either.

I guess it's soon to be, or already is, a crime to offend someone.

Is there an encyclopedia which will tell me what i can and cannot say ? (as far as being offensive, that is)

Let's bring back Book-burning!!!

Glory be and behold, it's just human. we all have the jungle inside of us. we all have wants and needs and desires, strange as they may seem. if you stop to think about it, we're all pretty creative, cooking up all these fantasies. it's like a kind of poetry while considering that, hmm, that much quality time with my mom would probably lead to some quality matricide. lest ye shall not forget, to prove a conviction is quite senseless; rather, it is important to prove that one has a right to be so convinced ... conviction is an objection, a question mark, a défi ["challenge"] (—very popular error: having the courage of one's convictions—? rather it is a matter of having the courage for an attack on one's convictions! ! !

he wanted to learn to swim?, he wanted to commit suicide, if it was hot water he wanted to make chicken stew, or some kind of chicken dinner. he wanted to learn how to fish, wanted to feed the ducks, wanted to see the fish, wanted to jump in the lake, take a dive, give himself a swirly, make chicken and dumplings. Wanted to test the waters, wanted to take a swim cause it's hot, wanted to take a ride on the back of a duck, wanted to ride his boat.
