Some say we learn from the strife and tribulations, etc... why can't we learn from 'good" instead of the bad stuff?

What I mean by this is, does what we consider to be “true” really just come from what the majority has agreed upon? Now I am speaking here in the sense of things that ARE NOT just (what I call) “common sense” truths such as the truth that people cannot fly on their own accord. I am speaking of things that we HAVE MADE truths. For example, take the math problem 1 + 1 = 2, this is “true” because we say it is – and as a result we have composed a validating method of proving this within mathematics.

However, had we said it was something else like 1 + 1 = 6, and compiled a mathematical validation to this occurance, then wouldn’t this be “true” also? Consider also the Pluto incident in which for the longest time it was true that Pluto was a planet because we agreed/accepted it was - but now this is not true because we say so. Therefore, as I was saying, is the concept of “truth” ultimately just a reflection of majority agreement/acceptance or am I flawed in my thinking of this somewhere?

Civilizations evolve through the advancement on communicattion. If Adam and Eve really existed, then proving it scientifically would merit a fact. The Bible states that the Eden was situated on a place where 4 rivers meet. Scientists point to 2 existing and 2 extinct rivers. Assuming they really lived in the Garden, the next question would be: How were they able to talk? If they named the animals, where did they get the intellectual capacity to do so?

Im in love with a ghost,
A real person who is fake,
I was tricked into love,
Believing it was fate,

Lie after lie,
I was pulled right in,
Without any signs,
The light grew dim,

I fought for our future,
Tried to make it work,
Like a slap in the face,
I saw the truth and it hurt,

Stil I continued to fight,
For what I believed was true,
Loving someone,
But not knowing who,

So do I give up,
Knowing it was all a hoax,
Even though I'm still in love,
In love with a ghost.

Again about someone who falls in love but afterwards finds out it was all fake but then still cant help but to be in love and doesnt know exactly what to do...

So why is it that we are always attracted to what we cannot have? Is it true? Is the grass really greener on the other side? Why is it human nature to lust after the unattainable? Is it the thrill of the chase? The prospect of something new? Its sick and twisted, ridiculous and idiotic yet continuously we crave the fulfillment of what is just beyond reach. Why do we toss and turn at night unable to sleep because our minds are filled with thoughts and plots of achieving the unachievable? Must it always be this way, always end this way?
