What drives you to get up every morning, what or who do you live for? Has this changed in your lifetime? Having a bit of a philosophical moment as you can prob tell from my recent postings...thanks!

I get up each morning to see my wife and my baby boys. I know that I have to do the very best I can at work because these are the people who rely on me to "bring home the bacon".

I strive to better myself and my family because I remember where I came from when I was a child and whilst I had a great childhood my parents struggled all the time. My wife's family even more so.

My marriage to my beautiful wife and the birth of my 2 sons have been defining moments in my life that have changed the philosophical course of who I am and what I do.

The up and coming life changing events will undoubtedly be the death of my parents to whom I owe my life and the person I have turned out to be.

I live for all those that are close to me. I've been seriously depressed in the past and considered the "most selfish exit from this world" only once. I didn't do it because every person's life is important as it touches the lives of so many others. I guess that's a good thought to leave this answer on....

Unfortunately, at the moment I am unsure and have been for the past few years. My survival instinct I guess, Ive been through a lot and people of often ask me how ive kept going, and I can never really tell them. One day I'll stop surviving and start living and then I know I'll pinpoint what motivates me and why Im here. Maybe thats it, the thought that oneday things will get better. I wish I could give an answer like some of the ones already posted though.

Just being me, I don't have to have an explanation for being here, whats important to me is that am here for a reason that I may never understand and neither do I question. The minute I wake up, I do what I have to do..go work, eat, drink etc then when I have free time I choose what I feel like doing at that moment if, its within my means... if not I browse on the Internet, watch TV, call friends and family or just read....just being content with what I have gives me peace. Attaining what I want gives me pleasure....the answer to happiness in my life.

Our existence is 'self'. All other beings and material that give a reason to get up in the morning are attachment that are created when one is born but they do not define ' The self' That can make life questionable when that, which one is attached to ceases to exist.

I have managed to cultivate a habit within me of thinking positively and optimistically, and enjoying life. I reckon that each day is memorable for something, human nature is basically good, and that I am a positive 'work in progress.'

I like to think that I am 'going for gold' rather than merely surviving. You don't have to suffer and 'live out your life' you can actively create the life you desire.

All you need is a developing imagination.

Why I'm floating along the waves of time
It drags me closer to my death
Whereas the efforts to overcome time
May guide me towards my life

Searching for peace is an inbuilt requirement of us. In this way we always keep our self going on. We put our self in war for the sake of peace.
The secret of peace lies in endless, struggle and efforts for it with full devotion and firm determination, till the last moment of ones life.
The peace is such a destination, that after its achievement explores another dimension tending towards a new effort.
Real peace is meant for hereafter only. We should earn good in this world to prepare our self for next world.

Not feeling blue, a day at the roadside of life....
jousting through your day, running up steps,
falling in love with people you do not know.....

Running around in the rain, painting a painting,
painting someone you love, sketching peoples
lives and faces in your mind.....

Feeling how other people feel, looking deep into
someone's eyes so that you can find out their
every thought and who they are..........................

Just being you, not being blue, dressing in blue,
loving someone you never knew..........................

Taking life by the hand as you travel through,
having sex, loving everyone even though that
is hard....

Being an observer of everything around you, seeing
how your day and life, is impacted on by someone
else, caring about people and who they are, not what
they do.........................................................................

Showing you care, even though they do not know,
always being there.......Even though sometimes
you should not be....butting out when you can sense
something has happened through someone elses
eyes......

loving you, and everyone else.....Finding the imperfections
in people which make them who they are............Loving those
who you can feel......Feeling others minds, and the chatter
in them........................................................................................

Sometimes a voice and a touch from someone can make
a difference, feeling glad to be alive...........................................

Perhaps thinking too much about these sort of questions is not healthy - or at least not healthy when life seems difficult.
