it can't be one way or the other. some require more effort than others;you know enough is enough when you get stressed out.

Yeah, at times. I started a community organization in the town where I grew up and there are times when I say "why the heck am I doing this when nobody else seems to care and I'm not getting paid for any of it". But then something will come along and someone will express how the work we're doing really means a lot to them and is great for the community and it helps get me going again. It's kind of a roller coaster, but I think that's kind of how life is in general. When I get burned out from stuff I just take some time off from whatever/whoever the issue is and just veg out a little bit, play video games with my kids, take walks, answer Yahoo questions, etc. and try to recharge my batteries. Eventually I start thinking about it and realizing that all the hard work really is worth it and I get back going again.

I don't think you can make anything happen for yourself, I think destiny is a powerful thing. But, then again, if you want something then you should go out and get it. I'm not sure.

Sure why not? All life seems to be is work, pay the government, pay bills, pay off the drug dealers... wait never mind that one.
