I have a solid background of training in guitar (classical and acoustic). I know my techniques and my theories. Now I'd like to learn how to play a mandolin. Will it be very difficult? Thanks. Please also tell me more about your mandolin experience. I'd like to hear it.

I play tuba and I need some ideas on how to practice better. I'm a first year tuba player, but I moved and ended up in a third year band, and I can't play all that well and I need improvment tricks.

If anyone could please give me some ideas to raise the energy level and to encourage the feeling of fun and having a good time for my performing arts group I would really appreciate it. It's not that they're having a bad time, but they're just showing up for rehearsals and singing the songs & dancing the routines. They're not having a blast, how do I change that? I can't change the songs or the dances b/c our performance is in one month. I just want to encourage everyone to have fun. At this point they know all the moves and lyrics/notes, how do I get them to let loose? I thought about taking time out of the next rehearsal to have a jam session, singing dancing in a circle, creating a club feel. Sorry I'm rambling but seriously any ideas would be awesome!!! Thanks so much!!!

and g sharp are in the key signature. Beethoven uses f double sharp in measure 27 of Moonlight Sonata in a csharp- dim7 chord, and then uses it in measure 34 in a c sharp minor chord. In the second case in particular, why is it a double sharp, rather than g natural ? What are the rules?

Obviously you can tell the difference between spanish classical songs and regular classical songs but I don't know if they have different strings are just the way they play it is a different style.

I can read music and I basically know what keys correlate to each note. Where should I go from here? Is it better to start on very simple songs, or would it be better to start off slowly working on something more difficult?

Just for acting, not musicals. I will be moving to LA because they say the schools there are more "TV" and the schools in NY are more "Stage". The reason I need to know is because I have to start setting up audition dates with the schools for early admission soon and I am having a REALLY hard time deciding between which one I should attend. American Musical and Dramatic Academy is more college like with dorms and stuff like that but Strasberg is just hardcore, straight-to-the-point method acting. I want both of those things but I just cannot decide, and I also want to go to a school where I can learn REALLY great acting techniques...I don't know which school has the better turn out rate for actual working actor graduates because they both seem to be good schools. I JUST NEED HELP! Thanks!

I just need an idea to make a feasible, working instrument on which I can play a recognizable song. It doesn't have to be complicated, but I am limited to my own handiwork and the materials found in my own house. I'm also supposed to play the song without telling my classmates what song it is, and I only get credit if they can recognize the song. This basically eliminates simple string plucking and maracas. Any ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've been in one student film by a high-school aged director. I met him when he posted a flyer for auditions.
^He and I have since had a falling-out, so he can't help me or anything.

Now I'd like to know other ways to get involved in student films, preferably by high school or college aged people.
