I am a beginning poet, but what makes good poetry? What defines a great poem? Is there anything that defines it as great, or is it personal preference?

Any tips on how to get started, word choice, genres, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alive or dead
is it really going to matter

I can't redo
think things I' ve done wrong
No-one will remember

so, this is my sonnet.

Why do you judge me in future to come?
Why do you until the point of madness?
Do you think I could ever be that dumb?
Do you think I'm filled with great happiness?
Maybe someday you'll forget about me?
Or will you keep at your pace of judging?
Are you ever going to stop and see?
Do you realize you are just annoying?
Are you going to leave it all for us?
Or will you go to other strange ones too?
Will you make everyone have a fuss?
I really don't care who you even are.
You judge me because I don't look for fame.
I judge you because you are all the same.

is it good?
have any recommendations?
see anything that needs fixing?
or words i could replace some w/ 2 make it sound better?

A three month old polar bear cub is at the Berlin Zoo in Germany. ONE animal rights activist says that it should die because humans have to feed it etc. But, the cub is healthy and doing well. Why kill it? Please help save the cute lil white fluff ball! Help save this polar bear cub from death. It is healthy...so why death? Let it live. HELP NOW! Polar bears are in endangerment. Why kill a healthy one just because humans have to feed it. Is it right? IT MAKES NO SENSE!

I have to write a poem based on the general idea behind the poems 'The missing' and 'Sardines' both by Stephen Knight. I'm not asking for the whole poem (obviously) but can anybody give me some ideas of words I could use or send me some poems that I could look at and help me to develop my ideas and come up with a decent plan/draft?

I graduated last May with a degree in studio arts (general art degree, however I focused on sculpture with wood and photography). I am lost as to what career I should steer toward. I ultimately want to do something creative, perhaps make a product (functional art) of some sort, or something artistic. Any job ideas, or where can I start applying?
